What we do is hard!!!
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008Well I’m back from Southern Florida and things went extremely well. Let’s just say "I did the dam thing!!!" I will get into more detail later in another blog. For now I just want to rant a little.
Let me start off by saying I take my hat off to everyone on bodyspace. Wheather your goal is to lose 2lbs., lose 102, get as muscular as possible, get in better shape for health reasons, train to be better in a sport, or some other reason, your on here and trying to do something. The one common thing is in some way eveyone on here is making a commitment to change and improve themselves. Making changes and trying to better oneself never comes easy though. I get sooo fired up at peoples perceptions and how unimportant or how "easy" that commitment to change should be. People will say things like "I don’t need to live your life to understand what you do, that’s just silly!!!" In reality though I think you really do because usually that is a statement put out there by people who couldn’t do it or understand it.
Statement like:
"I could look like you if I had the time!"
"Why even bother be happy with some pudge!"
"My children keep me too busy!"
"Who wants to spend all that time exercising?"
"You only want to look like that because your vain!"
I think these are some of the silly statements a lot of us routinely hear. How does the saying go- "You never know how nice a shoe is by looking at it but by trying it on!" Truth is most people don’t like to get out of their comfort zones. It is much easier to be comfortable and mediocore than uncomfortable and above average. A above average person is that person that sometimes has to miss that party because they know it is not benificial to their goal. A above average person is that obese person who can barely walk a flight of stairs but gets up everyday and walks that flight over and over until he or she can walk it with ease. I would always rather be that obese person who has 200lbs to lose but commits to it everyday, than the in shape person who claims to have to lose 2 or 3 lbs but sits around all day and does nothing about it. A above average person is that mom who finds a gym with a daycare so she can still get her daily workout in while not worrying about her little ones. Commitment is never easy. Sacrifice is never easy. Hard work is never easy. What we do day in and day out is hard!!! Until someone walks in your shoes, they will never know.
To all my bodyspacers keep doing what you do! I understand!!!
