I dont know what to do…

I just weighed my self and according to my scale (which is what i have been going by since i started lifting) i am 177 (before i ate and after i just worked out, and it was a crappy workout)…since last year around june i started to cut and i was 240 (bf uknown) and like a few weeks ago maybe 3/4 i was 185 and i just started a bulking program 4 weeks ago! now the obvious reason is because i eat like im on a cut. I dont know what to do though i want a BF% around 10-12 but i want to be big. i always thought i was bigger than i am…like im 177 and i have love handles and a 4 pack. i dont want to drop below 175. anyways here is the main point of this blog. should i just cut down and then bulk up for summer? or just lean bulk and hope the fat burns off slowly? heres a picture.

Hey man i’m 16 and in the exact same situatuion. I have been trying to bulk up but it is so hard when you are lean. I was making no progress until i started to get bf. A BIG guy once told me that if i really wanted to bulk up i have to have a certain amount of bf. I thought about it and it does make sense, you will keep more muscle if you have more fat to burn. So i was 175 for about 3 1/2 months and could bulk or get stronger. then i started just absolutely packing in food. I wasn’t used to it at first and i would get kind of quesy but within a week youve done it before, ur stomach gets used to it. So, the weight came on and the muscle comes on after. now i started to back off on calories for springbreak. and im at a solid 180 and pretty lean. I have gone up a ton in strength too. I think the key is to keep ur fat and if you want to lose weight later it isn’t that hard, cause once you have more muscle it will burn fat a WHOLE LOT quicker. So my advice is to keep on trying to bulk up to where you have quite a bit of weight in fat on, then whenyou want to look good … stop eating the 6000 calories and you’ll loose it easy. if you got any Q’s just ask me. Blake
