Hey everyone, just wanted to update you on how things are going out here! Yesterday was somewhat of a relaxing day for me. While the rest of the contestants were shooting, the first group of us were working out then we shot some video interviews that are now posted on the contest site. Last night was a lot of fun, we enjoyed some time at "the Standard" in LA with Tiffany, the bodybuilding.com transformation of the year winner.
Today was our day at Universal Studios. We woke up to a really dreary day that only got worse when it started raining. No worries though, we braved the weather and spread the good word at Universal for an hour. Lots of pictures were taken by Nick Scott, professional wheelchair bodybuilder that will soon be up on his site. Bodyspace will have many new members soon Tonight is our last night to relax before the big day tomorow. I wanted to thank everyone one more time for all the support and for the support you give to this site. I really am honored to be among the top 10 finalists on what i consider to be the best site on the net! Dont forget the webcast tomorow, we are all excited to be on stage and would love for you to watch!!!

Well day one is over and wow it was so much fun!!!! I landed at LAX around noon yesterday and was picked up by Mick. We then picked up Norma and Sean, I was really excited to meet them both but especially Norma since i have been working with her From the airport we quickly drove to the hotel, dropped our stuff off, and headed straight to the Ironman Studio for our photoshoot with famed photographer Michael Neveux. He has an AMAZING studio where we met up with some of the other contestants Kim and Pauline. Everyone looked amazing and was it so much fun to all get to hang together. We shot until about 9pm last night and then came back where everyone got some much needed rest.
I cant even begin to describe how happy I am to be here, its a dream come true. Thank you to everyone who believed in me and made this trip possible for me….hopefully after Saturday I will make you all proud as spokesmodel

Inspiration can come from many people, places or things in your life. Sometimes i’ll watch youtube videos before I train or listen to some heavy music on the way to the gym, but today I found it in another person. A client of mine, (you all know her as wannagetlean) has been having thyroid issues. I accompanied her to the doctor this morning, because for whatever reason it is not being resolved. After sitting in the office and helping her out, I really found myself in deep thought. HOW AMAZING IS THIS GIRL?!?!
Since about November I have known her. She has followed every word written and approached every workout with the highest of intensity; her work ethic is second to none!!! Anyone that has had hypothyroid knows how tired you are and how difficult it can be knowing that you are sometimes fighting a losing battle. Tiff has never had this mindset. She has remained positive and fought through. Hopefully the answers we got in the doctor today will help, but regardless her perseverance is what should be commended! Honestly, everything in my life at that moment seemed so trivial. This girl wants so badly to compete next year and damn it I will go to my grave before that doesn’t happen.
Anyone that knows her on here or sees her profile, please take a moment and congratulate her on her hard work, and what i know will be amazing progress in the months to come. Overcoming this battle is not easy physically or mentally, but she is strong and will do it.
Tiff - you have inspired the hell out of me. I want to thank you for being an amazing client, friend, and influence in my life! Cat and I love you girl, we will WIN this battle

Ok so i’ve gotten a lot of pms about my bout with an eating disorder! Thank you so much everyone for your support and kind words! I just thought I would fill people in on the details, and hopefully shed some light on this taboo topic. Eating disorders ARE NOT only for women. For me, it was actually a modeling recruit that started my downward spiral. I was 18, and at the time a nationally ranked golfer! I was in the mall one day at Abercrombie and Fitch when asked if I had ever considered modeling. Hell no i hadnt, i played golf everyday of my life, and when i wasn’t at the golf course i was probably eating a cheeseburger, pizza, chicken fingers, mozzerella sticks, mac n cheese, or drinking milkshakes! I wasnt fat (127lbs) but i had that skinny soft look. Anyway, she asked me to send her pictures, and to be sure to include "ab shots." Hahahahahahah ab shots? no chance i had anything resembling abs! Well i asked around to a few people how i could get a 6 pack and i received some advice to read mens health. Well i did, and i read every other thing i could get my hands on. Problem is i kept reading what NOT to eat. Well before too long it seemed as if i wasnt eating anything (a whole egg seemed like i was eating too much…one meal for me consisted of 2 rice cakes). In fact, when i went on my family vacation to the beach, i LOST 3 lbs in a week!!! Well for the better part of a year i struggled…physically, mentally, and emotionally. I lost friends, because i no longer wanted to go out for fear of being faced with having to eat something i couldnt. I didnt like myself, beacause in my mind i was never lean enough. At 120 lbs, i really was going downhill! Thank god i ended up getting a job opening up golds gym. While there i met a woman that knew i needed help. She knew that i wanted to be bigger, but also realized my constant quest for being so lean. She told me she would help me, and for some reason i let her. She put me on 4000 calories a day. Now being annorexic i was also becoming a bit OCD (which i guess is part of the disease). Every night i would write out a meal plan and then cook the food before the next day. Before i knew it i was gaining weight! The rest is history….i was able to put on about 30lbs while at home in virginia, then when i went away to college i met some great friends and training partners that pushed me to begin the physique i have today.
The point of this blog is not only to tell my story but to put out an awareness. This situation was extremely real in my life, and is real in many peoples lives today! At the end of the day, it comes down to being happy with yourself but that comes from finding balance! I wouldnt trade anything for being involved in this great industry, but that doesnt mean i dont have friends and that i diet year round. We all need to enjoy living this healthy lifestyle….eat some cheat meals, take days off from the gym…and go out and party your ass off every once in awhile!
PM me please if you feel you may be heading down the road i did, i would be more than happy to help:) Hope everyone is having a great nite!
