well about 2 weeks ago i injured my lower back doing some squats.  during my 5th rep of set #4 i felt a very sharp pain in my lower back.  i figured it would go away after a couple of days but i thought wrong.  well i finally decided to get my back x-rayed and turns out i jammed the 2 lower vertebrate in my back together.  so the chiropractor numbed my back then twisted my lower back and i felt the bones separate.  today i felt better than i have in a long time .  now i can get back in the gym and hit those weights

Deadlifts or Back Extensions

I really don’t do deadlifts at all but i  have been told that they are better for you than back extensions and easier on your back.  i just want to see what you guys prefer.  Deadlifts or Back Extensions?

On Sat, i injured my lower back and tail bone doing squats.  The Bio-Freeze muscle cream that I normally use isn’t really doing its job this time.  I have never used anything else.  What is a good one for me to go out and buy?

back injury

today was not a good day in the gym for me at all.  i had legs today and when i get there workers are putting new mats down in the boxing portion of the gym.  every time i go to the gym thats the first area i go to and do my warm ups.  since it was closed i like a moron decide to just do a quick 2 min stretch if that for my legs and back.  well i did my warm up set on squats then jump to my 3 sets with 205.  felt a little weird but i didn’t pay it no mind.  the i have 2 sets with 225.  now after rep number 4 i felt some sharp pain to i put the bar back on the rack.  mind you i am a person who loves pain and can take it really well but this pain put me on my butt.  i waited 10 mins and even tried to stretch it out lightly but it hurt me to even attempt to stretch.  so i ended up leaving the gym and came home and took me a muscle relaxer.  pain is still some what there but hopefully gone by Monday.  lesson learned for me.  NEVER SKIP OUT ON YOUR STRETCHING.

I won

i had my sparing match today at noon.  it was kind of hard not to throw any kicks or elbows.  i said that i was going to treat it like a real fight and i guess he did to.  i got put on my butt twice by the big guy but then i said damn that i had to start letting the hands go.  i popped him right in the temple at the beginning of round numero 2.   i am gonna be sore as heck also.  he landed the best hits dead in the middle of my chest.  Now hopefully he won’t treat people that are smaller than him bad.

coming back to me

well since i dropped body fat down to single digits i also dropped about 20lbs.  I added more protein intake to my meals during my breaks and finally my weight is starting to come back as nice lean muscle.  i just want to get it between 170-180lbs.  Then today i have me a spar boxing match even though i am a thai fighter.  hopefully i don’t end up throwing any elbows or kicks but i am gonna put him on his ass like it was a real fight cause this Big guy talks alot of crap to people that are smaller than him.  i will post what happened later today

change in long term goal

I have decided to drop my goal of maxing out on the bench at 400lbs to 375 lbs.  Since i have toned down my strength has dropped some.  My cousin who now personal trains at my gym is going to be helping me and i can lift extra heavy on the bench.  Once i hit 375 i can bring it back up to the big 400

practice fight

On Friday afternoon i have me what i call a practice fight.  its not a spar nor a actual fight to be put on my record.  i have alot of odds against me cause it will be done after work so i will be tired but that is not enough to stop me.  he is a stand up fighter so its gonna be fun to exchange blows.  my thought is that i will put him down in the 1st round by KNOCK OUT.  wish me luck

Big EGOS

Today at the gym I was working out my chest and for the last chest workout i like to do the wide chest press.  Well there was a guy who is like 4 times my size using the press and taking breaks that were up to 4 mins and that was the shortest one cause I was timing.  So i nicely asked him if i could jump in with him cause he had the weight that I use on it.  He gets mad and starts saying "no.  I don’t workout with anybody nor do I need your help little man.  I said "first of all I didn’t ask if you needed any help.  I am waiting and i can get like 2 sets in while your taking one of your breaks".  Then again he said "I said no".  So finally I told him never mind then, and by the way if your gonna have all that weight on there do it right.  Don’t be doing these little 3 to 4inch reps".  Clearly I think he didn’t want me next to him cause he is 4 times my size and I can do way more than he could.  What a di*k head huh?
