I did it!

I have put off doing one thing for several months now. It’s something I see almost everyone else doing on bb.com, but I have have made excuse after excuse as to why I shouldn’t do it. It is… the dreaded … Workout Journal. :P Yes, yes, I KNOW all the reasons why it’s so paramount to do this, and this is why I’ve finally conceded. :D LOL. I don’t see anyone else walking around the gym with a journal, and I’ll admit it, I don’t like to be different in that sense! Call me a sheep. BBBBAH! But I finally put one together, shamelessly plagarizing off a friend. ;) (Thanks, Man! :D )

Today was my first day doing this new program. It is broken up into a 4 day set up as follows:

1)Chest, back and shoulders, 2)Biceps, legs, and triceps, 3)Chest, back and shoulders, 4)Biceps, legs and triceps, with each workout using different exercises to hit the muscles. The other two days a week will be spent doing abs and cardio. :) I am going to be doing this for the next 6 weeks, and I have set target weight goals for all the exercises! :D

So those cursed three pounds are still hanging out, making themselves at home. LOL. I really want to believe they are muscle, but I read an article a while back that said something along the lines of, "Women who eat properly and lift weights regularly can expect to gain an average of 2 pounds of muscle in a year". Any truth to this? I’ve tried googling for more information, but I just keep getting back irrelevant results.

Okay, now I’m ashamed of mine…lol…yours looks so nice and organized. Mine looks like it’s written in a different language, but I guess it’s okay as long as I understand it…LOL

  2. cjacks9 Says:

WOW!! You are doing chect back and shoulders all on the same day? Jumping jehosaphat Batman, thats alot of work.

  3. Stormiorsini Says:

Your workout log is awesome!! Love the pink lines!! O.k. and you totally got me thinking how cool pink weights would look…as long as they come in weights over 20lbs!! lmao

Yes yes…you can expect to put on 2lbs of lean muscle a year from bbing. More if your supplimenting hard core. Now…having said that…your size should actually be smaller!

For instance…last year I was dieting down to compete (a trip to Texas at 4 weeks out messed it up big time! lol) I got my weight down to a little higher than it is now…but was definatly bigger than I am now! This time around…when I reached the same weight I was last year…the pants that I fit at that weight were WAY BIG this year! BUT…still at the same weight! Its kind of a mind game in and of itself…..which is why body fat measurements are most important!! HOLY i’m long winded today eh!!

Your abs in your last progress pic make me REALLY REALLY think its muscle!! So hang in there girl!! And keep going hard!!

    Thanks Janet!
I’m kinda ashamed of my workout sheet now…lol Sqrippled on and ripped peice of paper that floats around my Gym floor..lol I pretty much change my routine to what I feel I need that day..or most days do what I really dread…lol I call it Shock & Aw… which I guess breaks down to unorganized….. :) Keep busting it out Rock star!

Awe it’s all nice and little! Me with my clipboard and full page sheets… Got yelled at a couple times for "training" and not being an employee just because it looked like I was training a client, who was actually my dad. Perhaps I need to micronize mine…..

  6. bull.dogz Says:

So cool, now you look like a personal trainer. I was always too embarrased to carry one around. I figured everyone would think I was a fitness freak…ok, I think they already know that but probably don’t know how extreme. (Yes, I am one of those people with more than one membership). Ssssshhhhhh!

  7. dunkonu9 Says:

I need to get back to doing mine agian. I used to keep a really detailed one. I have been slacking on it. I used to write down all my food have been slacking on that. I guess now I will have to get back on it.

  8. BryanGee Says:

Geez my workout journal is a little note pad with a tiny little stub of a pencil that I keep crammed in my back pocket. I am so embarrassed.

  9. JRZ30 Says:

Awesome workout log. Trust me, they help immensely. I have one that looks like an actual diary (minus the unicorns, lol). One thing you should try though, is leaving a little space for notes. For instance, your mood that day, how many reps you were able to get easily and hard, how the weights felt. It’s a good way to know when you’re body is telling you to move forward. Remember, if you keep on doing what you’re doing, you’re going to keep on getting what you got. Awesome job Janet!!!

Hi Janet! My journal is just a notebook. (Well, and I scribe everything in the "journal" section of the forums.) It’s good to track your progress!

2lbs / year sound really low. I suppose that depends on how new you are to lifting weights, your natural test levels, etc.

  11. wendym1979 Says:

LOVE your workout journal, girl! i like that it’s a little girly with pink lines! :-) what can i say for myself? even my lifting gloves are pink, LOL! i hope that is not true about 2 pounds per year. that is just dang depressing!

  12. curt_james Says:

Leather bound? I’m feeling entirely inadequate.

    (Blog motivation! Blog motivation!)

Thanks, Janet. Way to destroy my self esteem!

:) I’m kidding, of course. My mother took care of that long ago!

    (ba dump bump)

    No, no, seriously, I’m kidding.

I chalk it up to my ex girlfriend!

for 20+ yrs I’ve carried one! In my book its a must!

  14. sportzgirl Says:

I like your workout journal, love the pink, it gives it a woman’s touch. I think you’ll find having a journal makes a huge difference, it definitely did for me. After all, you can’t know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been, right?

  15. pixiglittrpants Says:

Aww, what a cute journal!! And I gotta agree that I love the pink :) I hope it gives you great results!! And as a chick, I know how taunting those 3 pounds are, but you are gorgeous!!
