Rainy New England Day

September 9, 2008

Well, I ended last night strong finishing a great Bi’s and Back workout.  I know, some people hate that combo, but i have seen great results with it.  Today, it has been raining like crazy and tomorrows high is only 62.  Summer is definitely over in Boston.  From this point, my daylight slips away.  I started up teaching again today with a whole new slew of students, some Active Duty, some National Guard and Reserve and we always get a few Coast Guard.  They are already scared when I started talking about the Physical Training program that I run……This one Airmans voice was so shaky, I thought he might pee a little bit.  Either way, they will be running in the morning, with pee or no pee and they will like it.  In the end, they always appreciate it becuase they see I was doing it to make them better and stronger.

Its funny because I always make sure I am working out when they get to the gym, so they see me in my beater before I train with them.  A little ego boost…..?????  yeah…..true story, but it always makes them more nervous, so I get a kick out of it.  Well let me go administer their first written test, so we can get the hell out of here for the day.

Started off as a shoulders day…..but….

September 6, 2008

I made it to the gym today after working 36 hours in 2 days.  My plan was to hit my shoulders, but halfway into my routine, I decided to transition to a chest day.  I was feeling strong.  That really doesnt always translate into a good lifting day though.  Last time I felt strong, I decided not to warm up and almost ripped my shoulder out of my socket trying to show off.  That landed me in 3 months of PT; however today was different.

After a solid warm up, I moved to the Hammer Strenght machine for some decline chest work.  380 lbs later I was still pumping out 5 reps with wide grip pull ups in between sets to help strectch me out.  Awesome day at the gym until I made it back home and my best friend and his wife invited me over for dinner……DAMN THAT BAKED ZITI……it was so good…..but I did pass on the bread..lol..not like it really made a difference at that point. lol

Overall, it has been a good day….Now I am back at work, burning the overnight hours with only URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS to report in our ER tonight.  Its pretty boring.

TGIF!

September 5, 2008

Man, I just got of my shift at the hospital at 0730 and had to be to work on base by 0900.  I am wicked tired but I have to be back at the hosp. tonight at 11 so i think i might bounce ealry today to hit the gym for my dreaded legs day.  They are still recvoering from tuesday so much that when I went to get out of my jeep this morning I almost ate the gravel.  then i just stood there and laughed at myself for looking like a douche bag.  I know i should probably sleep before work, but i figure a bad workout is better than none!!!!

Booooooo REALITY CHECK!!!!

September 2, 2008

So after I first hopped on to this site, i thought I knew all my stats pretty well.  However; why after working out for 1.5 hours, I measured my biceps and they were only at 17". I FELT HUGE…… so in my head, i was like " OH YEAH…….I AM DEF AT 18"…….(insert screeching break noise here).I felt like someone wacked me over the head and immediatley took away 10 lbs of muscle.  So I ran back to myhouse and consumed a whole chicken. LOL…..I dont think that it will give me what I was hoping for, but when i was done, i felt a little bigger.

Another Long Night with a Slow ER

August 31, 2008

The emergency room finally dropped off a little.  I thought that I would be ready for a break but now the time has stood perfectly still.  So to break the snails pace of the rest of my morning, (its 0400 by the way), i decided to start a new workout journal with my new goals and food plans.  I figure out a few new routines and then i do a few pushups.  It keeps me awake that way.  If ever anyone is reading this and you have tried somehting new in the gym with good results, pass it this way.  Well, I hear the bell ringing again outfront.  Time to do some more work!
