Update - 1 month in

Haven’t posted a lot yet about the contest… i’ve been going at it HARDCORE!  It seems pretty extreme a lot of the time, but I know in my head that its the only way to get it done.  Since the semester started, in mid January, I have been at school for about a month now, and I have yet to drink… alcohol.  Its crazy I know, I went from being ALL about getting hammered every weekend, and then "bustin’ my ass" in the gym the following week to make up for it.  It seems so lame when you see it happen first hand every weekend.  Yet, it sucks that I can’t take part in it at the same time!  I cant tell you how badly I want to go out, buy a case and pound it to my face in a night or 2.  Case of the "Y" can solve soo many problems haha!  But as I walk around parties with my little water bottle filled with, yup WATER!!  I feel better about myself.  I know I can pull it together.  Now its not like I haven’t had a beer here or there, but done at the right times, like at lunch or right after a workout it can actually be good for you.  There are some benefits to alcohol, IN SMALL QUANTITIES!

Yet the hardest part about it all is the peer pressure.  You see someone at a bar or party w/o a drink your VERY FIRST reaction is wtf is the douche bag doing w/o a drink?!  I used to be that guy, until I started this contest, now i’m the "douche bag" w/o a drink people TRY to make fun of, until i **** their drunk-ass day up lol!  But it seriously is the most annoying thing to get harped on by some drunk **** about not drinking.  While this guy is spraying me down with his salavary secretions as he’s yelling in my ear bc he thinks we’re in the front row of a Lynard Skynard concert about how much of a pussy I am for not drinking… all I am thinking about is not delivering a haymaker directly to his right temperal lobe.

PUSSY?!  You are calling me a pussy?!  Listen bub, you wanna know how much dedication it takes to NOT pound that beer down in 3.2 seconds (theres a video of me somewhere) and calling you out to match me?  I don’t care who you are, I see you in the gym "gettin ur swole on" acting like a tough guy, and here you are drunk as **** trying to rip on me for not getting ****ed outta my mind ever weekend wasting me efforts in the gym.  Any muscle head straight out of a high school football team locker room can work out in the gym… what nobody understands is that….. THATS THE EASY PART!  working out is nothing, you feel the sting of some lactic acid build-up and you strain for a few sets to get one or 2 more reps and then guess what, ur done.  Cardo, forget about it!  Most don’t even step foot on a tredmill.  Most guys at the gym don’t even wear the proper foot attire to be able to do cardio.  I’ve seen more Timbs on the floor than Nike’s this winter.  Nobody wants to work hard.  The hard part is what you do outta the gym.  Diet, diet, diet… did i mention diet.  I hate that people have come to think of the term "diet" as an association with eating right.  Your diet, is the food you consume.  It isn’t a special "plan" or set of foods your "supposed" to eat.  A diet, is the food consumed by a being.  A shark’s diet consists of fish and sometimes human parts.  A dog’s diet is what you buy him, canned food, dry kibble… or even your left over scraps.  It is YOUR CHOICE what you wish to make YOUR DIET.  If you are on a diet, it means your making an effor to clean up what WAS your diet.  Which is actually a good thing.

I’m done with that.  Legs tomorrow.  Supps are still giving me gains!  MT rocks, I believe by the end of this up comming week, I will look better than I did when I stopped after this past summer!  I can’t wait for my next cycle to begin!

Contest training: Days 1 & 2

I AM STOKED!  MY SHOULDER IS 100% BETTER!!  Got an MRI over break, and a shot of cortisone into my AC joint which of course fixed it totally almost within the week.  I def should have done that within the first month of screwing it up… but then again, i wouldn’t be able to compete in the MUSCLETECH TRANSFORMATION CONTEST!!  This is my chance to prove to myself that I really can do it.  I’ve always told myself that I would reach my body goals when I was out of college because there’s just too much temptation.  But i’ve decided… WHY F*CKING WAIT?!  NOW IS THE TIME.  I have a pretty good amount of knowledge in dietetics, food preparation, and training… whatever I don’t know and whatever else I need i can always find on BODYBUILDING.COM!  Ok enought of this recap since my last post…. TO THE MEAT AND POTATOES OF IT ALL!!

Day 1, i was still without my supplements because I was waiting for this day to see if my shoulder was really better.  I did my morning cardio session; running on the tredmill for about 30 minutes.  Actually only ended up runny 1 3/4 miles, and i walked 3/4 of a mile for a total of 2 1/2 miles.  I know I know, its really bad.  I HAVE NO STAMINA LEFT!  After a whole semester totally away from training anything, I def. felt it.  But I gotta do what my body tells me and what my schedule here at school allows me to do.  I plan on getting up to running 5 miles straight, my personal reccord is only 3.  But once I do hit 5 straight, I’M DEFINITELY NOT STOPPING THERE!  I’ve always been jealous of track, or cross country runners.  If I could just get up into those numbers I would be very happy.  After the cardio I stretched and did 3 sets of 25 reps of slow and near perfect crunches to just jolt my abs.  They hurt today.  After that, I had to see if I was GO for later that evening to lift chest and tris.  Went over to the bench, warmed up with the bar… it felt OK.  Loaded just 1 set of quarters on each side… got under… put it up for 12 reps… it felt good!  Went up 10 lbs each side… repped out 12 more… i was getting excited!  10 more each side, at 135… repped out 12 more!  IT FELT GREAT!!  I WAS HEALED! I’M BACK BABY!!  I could not WAIT for later that evening… even though I knew I was going to be lifting some pretty pethetic weight.  But I didn’t care, I was able to train again, and that is all I wanted for the whole fall 08 semester.

Day 2, Back

SUPPLEMENTS CAME!!!  I JUST ORDERED THEM YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND THEY ARRIVED TODAY!  BODYBUILDING.COM ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF!!!!!!!  NEVER BUYING FROM ANOTHER SITE EVER AGAIN, PLUS THEY HAVE THE BEST FREE GIFTS… GOT A BB.COM TOWEL, YES!
BUUT what else did I get???  Which MUSCLETECH supplements interested me the most??  I shall tell you.  I got the ANABOLIC STACK featured on BB.COM, which included ANABOLIC HALO, naNOx9 HARDCORE, AND LEUKIC HARDCORE.  I have been on the naNO VAPOR/HALO stack before… and LOVED IT!!  Gave me some awesome gains last year in the gym, moved up in weight in practically everything.  What I really wanted though, was something that would absolultly get my ass in gear and back to my normal weights fast.  This stack was definitely it!  I’ve been wanting to try naNOx9 since it came out, and I’ve heard great things about LEUKIC forever… I was sold from the beginning haha!  I start taking them Monday because I want to kick my own ass without any kind of help just to get the pain of being sore flowing through me.  Call me crazy, but it is a love/hate relationship.  It SUCKS walking up the stairs after leg day, but at the same time being sore makes me feel ALIVE!  The gym is my place to get away, and this is my reminder that I’ve got a place to be at some point during the day.
It was like Christmas all over again, openning that big brown box with the BB.COM logo on the sides… just made my day.  Especially because I thought when I got the note about having a package in the office I thought it was my new glasses haha!!
After the cardio session this morning - which I stepped it up a little more.  Added a sprint at the end and a 1/4 mile incline hike to get the calves motivated - the lift went very well!  Started with bent over bb rows, went into deadlifts; both wide and close stance, did some seated rows, and moved into lower trap exercises with seated trap shrugs on the same machine, and then lastly incline dumbbell shrugs.  I AM GUNNA BE SORE TOMORROW!!  Day 3 is just going to be a cardio, abs, forearm session because for the first 2 weeks, I need at least 1 day of rest from lifting while my body get used to training again.  I’ll tell you, I’m pretty sore all over right now, and i’m only half way done with the week!!  Like I said, we’re in for one WILD RIDE!

Just read my last post…. haaaa!

So, that little "tweak"  in my shoulder ended up knocking me out for the ENTIRE semester… i’m ****ing pissed and haven’t been able to train at all since then.  i’ve gotten way outta shape, and its a sad sad story.  BUT i see something that has been placed in front of me that i’m going to seize!!  the 2nd annual MuscleTech/BodyBuilding.com $50,000 contest!!!!  I was too late for the last contest to enter, i would have only had 1 month to change my body from being in really good shape to incredible in order to win lol!  So, i think God must have given me this injury to place this opportunity at my feet and give me a chance to prove that i can make something of myself!  If i were to win this contest, i would finally have a slight leg up on life with all the school bills and STILL not having a vehicle to get around in.  Also, i would like to do something great for my parents, because they’ve been awesome to me.  My sisters and I for Christmas pooled our money together and got our parents a new flat screen LCD TV… its on my credit card, and i actually don’t have the money now to pay it off.  Well, i’ve been working so we’ll see how this next semester goes!  I’m already excited to get back to school….. in the mentality of ANIMAL:  I CAN’T win this contest!

Start of school

Haven’t been able to train AT ALL for the past month bc I have no vehicle, and there was literally no way for me to get to the gym in my hometown.  So I have been stoked for today when my roommate and I started our routine once again at the IUP fitness center.  As like many, we started our week with chest, and let me tell you… I was impressed with how well we both did for not working out for a whole month.  I put up 315 twice, and he got 185 twice (i’m a little bigger), but it was still pretty rough to get back into it.  And on top of that, I ran earlier with a buddy of mine… sprints, and that definitely took a lot out of me.  Thinking I should stick to just working out once a day until I’m back in the swing of things.  And on top of that, I tweeked my left shoulder… really hurts but I DO NOT want to have to "recover" after the first friggin’ day.  Owell i’ll suck it up for back day tomorrow, and wednesday is off.  Stacking a lot, Muscle Tech Halo and nano vapor, with protein, lipo 6, and universal nutrition NO.

First day of new supplement cycle… I’m stacking ON creatine+BCAA, with glutamine, dextrose and mixing it in with my after workout protein shake.  Worked for me in the past very well, and I’m going to start it up again.  Today I woke up at 630 am for no damn reason and couldn’t get back to sleep.  I need to look into getting a new vehicle today also.  Found a wrangler for 9,999… damn good deal.  Hope I can get it with the money I have and all.  Gotta get goin, starting out with shoulders cuz they’re my favorite and I really want them to grow into some seriously sized cannon balls.

Its been a while…

Haven’t used BodySpace in probably a year, since last summer when I posted and updated almost daily.  I got back to school and I kept lifting, but kind of left BodySpace outta the equation.  I made some awesome progress while at school, the second semester was killer for me, my physique was looking the best ever.  The most credit should go to Arnold’s Bodybuilding Encyclopedia… best read for a fitness enthusiast.  Couldn’t put it down, took me about 2 weeks to finish and I was utilizing everything the book said, and it was showing!  Now that summer is back in full swing, I am still hitting the gym hard, but without supplements…. besides protein and eating clean and healthy.  A lot of the work I did over school is still visible, but I just don’t have the strength I had when I was on creatine, aminos and a few other supps.  But I just recently ordered a new one that I’m excited to try, so we’ll see how it goes in the next month and a half.  As for now, I had 2 vacations and I’m not looking the best.  Goal for the end of summer is to be leaner, stronger, and sporting some abs.

It’s been quite a long time since I last logged onto bodyspace, but I have been hitting the gym, and hitting it hard.  I just don’t have the same time I had over the summer.  School takes up a lot of my time so I don’t get to write my posts or keep up w/ my log or anything on here in general.  I have been working out and I also quit using Shotgun.  Even though it was some great stuff and giving me some great gains, it tastes so bad and made me feel so sick at times that I just feel it to not be necessary.  Without it, I am still advancing and gaining just as I was when I was on it.  So I made all the sense in the world NOT to take it anymore.  Its late, I just wanted to post something short and quick so there it is, I’ll try and get back into the swing of blogging… till then!

Shotgun + Lipo6

August 6, 2007

Monday, August 6th starts the cutting phase.  Took my first dose of Lipo6 at about noon today.  The next i’m planning on taking at around 6… aka right now haha!  I’m real excited to see what’s going to happen in this month because I’m going to be eating much leaner and cleaners than before.  I will be doing cardio after every workout to burn some of this fat off.  I posted my first "progress pics" online just a few minutes ago, so everyone can now see my fat suit I have created.  It sucks, so it is definitely time for me to shed it.  I started today as a chest day.  I was impressed with myself, I felt great except for a little of that stomach wooziness.  I got rid of it w/ a protein bar.  Increased my bench today so I was overall pretty happy about todays workout.  Results:

BB Flat Bench -  6 sets:  135×20, 205×14, 245×8, 275×7, 300×2, 135×16

BB Incline Bench - 3 sets:  135×12, 185×8, 205×5

DB Alternate Neutral Press - 3 sets:  60×14, 70×12, 90×9

DB Incline Alt. Neutral Press - 2 sets:  60×10, 70×6

Cardio - Elliptical for 1 mile.

NO-SHOTGUN: Day 15

2nd post of the day, but I didn’t want to wait till 2morrow to get this one in.  4th day in a row hitting the gym, i think it’s a record for me this summer.  Getting ready to start the cutting phase, so I need to prepare and get ready for it this week.  Unlike the bulk phase, I’ll try to get to the gym 5 days a week instead of the 3 days that I have been going for the past 2 months.  5 days in a row, w/ cardio and an ab workout every day should get me to where I want to be by the end of Aug. if i can stick to it!  Good workout today, new personal best on bent over rows, which was great.  Love to see that I’ve been moving up in weight all summer long.  Results:
