I am well into my transformation. I am excited about the changes. The outside isn’t quite there yet; it will be a number of weeks there, but on the inside I feel GREAT! One attribute that’s not measured on the profile page but that makes a tremendous difference is blood pressure. Up until an extreme job pressure situation about 2 years ago, my blood pressure was solid at about 110 over 70. After that situation and until I started becoming active again and preparing for my transformation, my bp gradually increased to as much as 140 over 110 around the early part of last year. Some dietary changes brought it down to about 130 over 100, but it’s finally coming back down to where it needs to be. My new unofficial bp measurement is 115 over 65. I am excited to be back to "normal" and to make the overall transformation. I’m getting it done in ‘09!

One thing you can expect when you try something great is adversity. Call it a test, call it life, it will happen. The difference in it’s outcome is how you deal with it. This summer I have lost a nephew to a car accident and have had financial difficulty. These events have created problems with my renewed fitness goals. However, they also make you reevaluate what’s important. Health and Fitness is VERY important! I have not kept my training goals in the last month, but I have cleaned up my diet tremendously. Thanks to you all that have contributed to that through your example. I am climbing back on the horse (again) with my training. It’s worth it, and so no matter how many times I get knocked down, I’ll get up, brush myself off, and keep going. Here’s to the renewed focus of being fit!

I am ready to get started with my new fitness program and lifestyle. After 3 years of sedentary foolishness, I am ready to get into the best shape of my life and to commit to the fitness lifestyle.
When I have failed previously to meet a fitness goal, or to meet any goal, it is typically for one of the following reasons: failure to set goals; failure to maintain a support group; failure to get back up after a setback; failure to accept a bad choice, leading to an expectation of failure because of imperfection.
I am committing myself to success and excellence. I will succeed because I recognize these personal causes of failure and will avoid them. I will do this by: planning and maintaining goals and schedules; realizing I am not perfect and continuing on after a bad day; interacting with my support group here and in "rl"; and reading this on a daily basis to remain focused on my new lifestyle.
Here’s to my success!
