Leg days can be so weird for me. I wake up in the morning and even before my morning run I’m thinking about the fact that it is leg day. I don’t really stop thinking about it until I do my first rep. I hate leg day, but I love it at the same time. I dread it like the plague because I know how much leg day kicks my ass, but there is also no better feeling than trying to walk back to the office after having just crushed myself.
What I need to figure out is how to transfer some of the intensity that flows through me on leg day to my other days. Not that I don’t work hard on other muscle groups, but shit, I’m very rarely completely wasted like I am after squatting, lunging, pressing, and lifting.
What is even more strange is that just an hour after my workout I’m already looking forward to moving up weight next week on leg day…but then I think about the fact that my legs are literally shaking right now, and tomorrow that shaking will be replaced by that sweet, beautiful soreness and I’ll be back to dreading leg day again.
So Weird!
