Rare Photo of Arnold's Phsyique Looking Pretty Average
: Jul 27, 2012, 11:58AM
right.....average... uh huh
Jul 27, 2012, 12:01PM
He was probably off his steroid cycle when that pic was taken.
Jul 27, 2012, 12:08PM
this is arnold without steroids
Jul 27, 2012, 12:08PM
still pretty big
Jul 27, 2012, 12:10PM

Jul 27, 2012, 12:10PM
Mid to late 60's. Perhaps around the time when zane beat him.
Jul 27, 2012, 12:19PM
Average? Man the blogger must not live in america lol
Jul 27, 2012, 12:21PM
Jul 27, 2012, 12:25PM
Arnold doesn't look "average" in this picture. He's just not posing.
Jul 27, 2012, 12:36PM
when Zane beat Arnie, 1968 I believe, Arnie was much bigger then he is in this picture. Zane beat Arnie cause Arnie was smooth as hell and was lacking calfs too. BTW is that George Eiferman, in the front row on the right hand side?
Jul 27, 2012, 12:40PM
No, he was roiding after a year of lifting weights. Remember, he trained with powerlifters....at the beginning...
Jul 27, 2012, 12:54PM
Yes he did, and I also believe one of the men he trained with in the begining was a doctor. AAS's would have been easy for him to access.
Jul 27, 2012, 12:59PM
ok obviously most of these people dont work out.. if you train hard.. you get great results.. when you dont train hard.. you look flatter.. arnold was the master of hard work.. it looks like to me hes in an offseason just having fun.. people dont realize the dedication it takes to be a body builder or to be a muscular guy at that.. its impossible to keep top physique at all times.. to me it looks like a young arnold in the offseason doing average (for him) worksouts.. he knew when he put full effort into it nobody could touch him..
Jul 27, 2012, 1:05PM
He's still got the arms...never really had legs..rewind to 1980...
Jul 27, 2012, 1:09PM
It's not liked he popped out of the womb cool-aid man style, fully ripped and ready to terminate. He looks stronger in this picture than 99% of everyone else in the world. This is Not average. But he had to start somewhere.
Jul 27, 2012, 1:46PM
lol@"never really had legs"
Jul 27, 2012, 2:49PM
Arnold was 13 years old on the pic so not your average teenager
Jul 27, 2012, 2:50PM
Okay...WTF...who thinks he never took steroids?? One of the post states that people don't know what it takes to be a bodybuilder, to work hard...give me a break you ass...he has admitted to using roids! ANYONE who uses that shit are weak!! Train hard?? He and a lot of the others cheated! They opened the doors for steroid users to follow them to achieve the same goal. Look at Lee Haney now...little man now because it wasn't in his genetic make-up to be that big!!
Jul 27, 2012, 4:38PM
He took steroids as did everyone else at that time! You just can't take steroids and do leisure workouts and get the physique he accomplished! He trained harder and smarter than anyone in his era!
Jul 27, 2012, 5:43PM
Jul 27, 2012, 7:04PM
Ok...There's this Guy who thinks he knows about BodyBuilding and steroids!! You just can't take steroids and do leisure workouts and get the physique instantaneously that he accomplished! HE TRAINED HARDER THAN ANYBODY AND SMARTER THAN ANYONE IN HIS ERA!! Period!! If You're against Steroids, than stay away and don't use them!! Or better still, go ahead and become a CM PUNK and start annoying the crap out of these Users!! The World salutes to Him and so does many of Us here, who thinks he is a Demi God during his ERA and for his Accomplishments!!
Jul 27, 2012, 8:27PM
Can you guys Jay Cutler here......at the left of Arnie
Jul 27, 2012, 10:59PM
who uses steroid is not a bodybuilder
Jul 28, 2012, 12:45AM
Twinface got it right....Nothin works unless your ready to die under the bar! In a world with no gear the same guys win because they fucking destroy themselves in the gym!
Jul 28, 2012, 4:58AM
What a bunch of fucken idiots. Arnold was only about 22 in this pic! Dumb cunts
Jul 29, 2012, 6:31AM
Wheres Marco..? Good old friend of him.
Jul 30, 2012, 12:04PM
very young arnold!! 60's era!! uneducated morons!!
Jul 30, 2012, 12:06PM
I hope the guy that said "Mid to late 60's. Perhaps around the time when zane beat him." is joking
Jul 30, 2012, 12:37PM

There isn't that much difference in terms of timescale between this pic and the one elsewhere on this Facebook page-the one with Franco on it, because it is the same set of trunks. However on the pic with Franco he is a lot more muscular. Probably off cycle.
Aug 15, 2012, 3:02AM
Never had legs? Not compared to Ronnie, no, but compared to IFBB Pros now, nobody 'has legs'.
Aug 29, 2012, 3:47AM
Steroids at that time were not illegal, I believe...
Jan 4, 2013, 12:57PM
1) water 2) sun brings the blood and water out to the skin barrier to protect from sun burn 3) probably a vacation which he skipped couples of workouts so the blood is not needed to pump up and repair the muscles 4) photoshopped?.....idk.....just putting my thoughts out there :)
Jan 4, 2013, 12:57PM
kela zane nevr beat arnold...in fct arnie defeated him..in 1980 cumback
Jan 4, 2013, 1:07PM
Hes still big
Jan 4, 2013, 1:11PM
1st off, he was in competition condition which plays a huge role in how big you appear. 2nd, I saw someone mention that Arnold started juicing after 1 year of training. That's a big myth. He openly speaks about it in his new autobiography that he started juicing for the 1st time when he was 20 years old. And in that era it was only for precontest usually for 6 to 8 weeks before. Sometimes up to 12 weeks, but that could make you retain excessive water so usually just 6 to 8. And it was about 20 times less the dose than the competitors started using in the 80's. And it was just dianabol.
Jan 4, 2013, 1:20PM
excuse me I meant he was not in comp condition.
Jan 4, 2013, 1:21PM
Steroids at this time were legal and they talked about steroids like we talk about protein shakes; it was very common then
Jan 4, 2013, 6:33PM
wow guys its as simple as he was bulking.....higher body fat therefor looks to have mass but the base was there.
Jan 5, 2013, 6:11AM
lol i have seen a image on that he is really average that is good against this image
Jan 7, 2013, 7:44PM
In every sports atletes take steroids, but you will never get a champion only with steroids, why now american lifter are weak on olimpiades, they have acces to best new syntezed steroids and they don't become a champions, steroids are just 30 40% from game
Jan 14, 2013, 2:03AM
Of course he took steroids before he woz 20 years old, are u trying to say he got that size without them, look at pics of him when he's 18, 19 and 20, he's enormous, even if he did say that in one of his books, he's obviously lying, he took steroids from a very early age.

And Arnold had outstanding legs, his legs were fantastically shaped, symmetrical, ripped to the bone and in proportion to the rest of his body. He had the most symmetrical body of his time, and probably of this time also. Today's bodybuilders don't look anywhere near as good as the bodybuilders from the past, they're far too big and freaky looking, most of them look disgusting now. Back in the day bodybuilders looked more natural even though they took roids, but they had a much more symmetrical and natural look to them. Today you have a guy who's 5ft 8" in height who has 22 inch biceps and a 55 inch chest, where in the past that person would have had 18 or 19 inch arms with a 50 inch chest and looked much better in my opinion, having bigger muscles nowdays doesn't mean bodybuilders have better bodies than body builders from the past, in fact their bodies look worse, they look stupid, not beautiful the way bodybuilders used to look.
Feb 2, 2013, 6:59AM
he was the master he is master and he remains the master of bodybuilding ... we salute u..
