EATING!

July 5, 2009

I just want to see if people out there, who are trying to gain weight, are going through the same difficult hoops as I am. Training is easy, show up and go hard. However, in a given day we have 24hrs to eat the proper amount of calories to support own goals.

I eat 100g of carbs-60g of protein-20g of fat—6 times a day!! I’m 6,5′ and 255lbs lean.

My body is constantly working against me it seems. Progress is slow, and I feel my body struggling to keep up with me. It’s Adjusting to my demands, more muscle and more strength. Force feeding myself EVERYDAY, falling asleep at 1am with a weight gainer shake in my hand EVERYDAY. I average 10lbs a year, and it just pops up all in one month.
Does anyone have the similar feeling? Does it feel like there is nothing more you can do? other than take drugs, which is out of the question….I’m interested to here some stories!!

Why The Plateau?

June 8, 2007

Today I was talking with a police officer, 35 years old, very fit guy. Somehow we brought up the subject of training plateaus’ and coincidently he mentioned his bench was at a plateau for the past 2 months. Now, what’s more important? knowing you have a plateau or knowing your training as hard and as resourceful as possible. I’m not the type of trainer to write down every single thing i do while i train. I don’t write anything down. The only note i take is the one in my head that says "i could’nt of trained harder". If i ever wanted to legaly train someone It would be a good idea to make an agenda, but should plateaus’ be an annoying obstical in our training?

Lots of Angles

May 19, 2007

People want to look muscular, big, ripped, etc, right? Of course they do, but at the same time they want to reap the benifit of being an athlete, a pro, or a hardcore trainer. That makes me laugh. When ever i need a good ab workout I tell myself that. lol…oh man, ouch, that’s enough for this week. People want to get away with doing as little as possible, and that makes my skin crawl, but it’s my motivational fuel to succeed in this field. If your sitting there and saying WTF about this little rant you are probably at least trying to make a change out of your own sweat and blood, and I admire that. For those of you who are pissed off at this little rant because it’s the truth, you better pay close attention. Optimal body functions for the rest of our lives is the root of healthy living. Sounds easy eh!? NO! There is no pill that’ll clear this up for us. Believe it or not we have to "work it out", at every single angle possible. If you think you’ve got it figured out already, there’s a lot more to learn. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying i know it all. I’m just saying there are so many differant ways to train in order to increase our life spand and enjoy life to its fullest. A great body DOES NOT happen in 1,2,or 3 years. This fitness and wellness stuff actually takes time. Two or 3 years is a good amount of time to get started though, but the possibilities are endless when we have lots of angles.

Routine

May 15, 2007

Every morning after waking up I look forward to half an hour after breakfast, that’s about when I’m blasting the music in my truck on my way to the gym; getting pumped for the workout. Around that particular time in the gym I’m able to say good morning to all the familiar faces, and as usually these familiar faces are getting work done and looking great as time goes by. Just a few days ago I had to walk right up to this one girl (in her 30’s) and specifically say she has been progressing more than enyone on that gym, even more than me. I’ll always quick pace walk on the treadmill for the length of a couple good songs. Now that my blood is pumping I’ll walk over to the water fountain, drink, and head over to, lets say the spuat rack. 135lbs 50 reps three times. Then 225lbs 25 reps three times. I’m hoping this lighter weight will deviate from back problems when I’m older. Some times I’ll superset with hamstring curls followed with another superset of calve raises, however my reps on squats will drop and so will the weight. After a intense training session like that I’m walking like i just got out of jail. (Never been there just for the record). The hard part is not over yet. Stretching is hell when you do it right. Just thinking about it makes me shed a tear. After making a little noise in the gym (It’s not a library) i hobble over to my gym bag, pack up and look forward to my 1200 calorie protein shake at home..
