Just started lifting again. I was off and on last year, so I didn’t make any noticeable gains. I would do well for a couple weeks, and then take a month off. Pitiful. Now I’m going to change my quitting streak and stay on course. I have a lifting, diet, and rest plan all worked out. In a week, I start my new cushy job that leaves plenty of time to get into shape before I go to 22+ weeks of intense physical training in May.
So my goals are simple. Gain 10-20 lbs before I leave in May by exercising 6 times a week. This is GONNA work! It’s got to. In the past, I’ve attained (or came at least close to) my short-term goals and then quit. This time I’m not going to live the lifestyle for 1, 2, or even 3 months. I’m going to live the lifestyle that makes me best at what my job demands of me and still continue to re-evaluate and strive towards other goals. The time for acting like a child is over. Now I’ve got to grow up and act like an adult by setting goals and following them through and through.
PS. On a side note, I’m going to start training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu again. I figure it is another aspect to physical well-being that can help me become a better soldier.
