Progress

I’m pleased with the progress I’ve made thus far this year.  I’m down 19lbs since January 4th, my diet is the best it has EVER been, I’m focused and working harder and smarter than ever in the gym…all great things.  But one thing is bothering me:  will I reach my goal this summer?!  I know it’s far too early to tell, but I fear that even if I continue to do everything exceptional, I will still not reach my goal.  I try not to focus on the long term goal, and take it day by day, but it’s really difficult.  And as a reult, it makes it difficult for me to appreciate the things I have accomplished.  But I imagine that’s part of this whole process; that it’s just that, a process and a challenge of whether or not you can stick with it for the long haul.

Now this is exciting news!  I went to the mall today, because I had a gift card.  I decided that I wanted a new polo.  So of course I go straight to the XX-L.  TOO BIG!  I was like, you have to be kidding!  I can’t remember the last time I was in an X-L or under, even when I was at 212 lbs in 2001.  But it was meant to be. X-L baby!!!  No wthat’s some motivation!

I hit 268 lbs. today.  I’m pretty excited about that.  I was hoping for 269, and my body decided to be nice to me today and give me an extra one.  Let’s see if I can get under 260 lbs by the end of the month!

Still at 271 :/

So I’m still at 271.  I didn’t reach 269 like I had hoped, but thinking positively about it, I stayed pretty steady over the weekend, and should easily be able to hit 269 or better in the next few days!  I had a really good day today thus far.  Today was chest day, and I began my high rep workout week, 4 exercises, 4 sets each of 15-20 reps.  I like to switch to that every other week or so to avoid plateauing (sp?).  I also did 1.5 hours of cardio, and have eaten 5 small  CLEAN meals thus far.  I may post some progress pics today, or just may wait until later on this week.

New low of sorts

Today, I’m at my lowest weight since starting to cut again….271.  I’m happy with that number, but want to be under 270 by the end of this week.  I guess I still have two days to get there, but then again, the weekend is here.  Dicipline, dicipline, DICIPLINE!!!!

Working hard

I’m continuing to work hard.  I had a bit of a rough weekend as far as the diet is concerned, but got right back to it Monday.  I slipped on the ice Saturday before last and hurt my knee.  It bothered me all week, but for some reason when the weekend came, it bothered me more than it had during the week, thus I didn’t work out, hence slipping on the diet.  But it wasn’t too bad I guess.  I had a lot of Subway, but got not only chesse, but EXTRA chesse on the subs, AND I had a major urge for cookies, which I had three of.  Then Sunday, I slipped a bit more during the Super Bowl, but nothing too terrible.  I realize that this thing is a lifestyle change, and I’m going to have times where I mess up.  The key is not letting it get you down, and continuing to work hard rather than dwell on it.

Workouts are still going well.  I’m trying to find a way to add in a bit more core training into my workouts.  I think it’s about time I increased the intensity of the work to my core.  I’m still eating roughly 6-8 small meals during the day, 1-2 hours of cardio, and intense lifting.  I’m seeing progress, yet it is still slow.  Patience, patience, patience….lol.
