thanks to you all who replied to my post! I took what most of you said and changed my diet. I’ve got more whole foods in now, a bit less protein, but still have about 6-8 meals a day. I think this may be the key, as I can see a difference In my progress pics. We shall see how things look in the next pics!

I’ve decided to yet again twirk my routine. Right now my objective is to cut some weight while keeping as much muscle as possible. I know in order to do this, I have to commit more time to my cardio routine. I usually do one bodypart per day, but do it twice a day with varying exercises. I think I’ll go back to lifting once per day, and leaving the other workout session strictly for high intensity cardio. Thoughts on that? FYI - I feel that my diet is on point at the moment, I will post it a bit later. Suggestions are welcomed!

First off, I want to strat this blog off by saying a big thank you to all of you for your kind words, motivation and inspiration in helping me attain my goals. I also want to ask all of you to continue to train hard and make progress because your successes make myself and others feel that our goals can be reached. Not that that’s out of the way, I’ve decided to add a new wrinkle into this transofrmation. I think I need a few short term goals. I used to focusing on the big picture, and think that if I had something attainable for the near future, I’ll get much further. My problem is I’m not sure what short term goals to reach for…any suggestions?

The weekend is upon me. This is the time of the week where if I am to stumble, it would be about now. My routine is so thrown off just for the simple fact that I have more free time, or I should say my schedule changes. I can only imagine where I would be if I had stayed consistent on my weekends throughtout the past year. But it is just another challenge I’ll have to overcome. Speaking of challenges, I have to go out to dinner with family tonight, and of all places, we’re going to a Mexican place. What the hell am I going to eat there?!!! I’ll just have to make it work somehow. I have one more workout this week, and then a rest day, which I know my body is itching for at the moment. I my have to put in extra work to make up for the Mexican food!!!

Thus far, yet another good week. As far as weight lifting goes, this week I’ve tried to work more on proper form and technique, really focusing on what I want to muscle to do and look like. In doing so, I had to drop my weight just a bit. BUT, what a workout! The workouts this week have been some of the best ones I’ve had in quite some time. It’s amazing how such a small change can make such a big difference. The dieting has been going well too. I’m paying close attention on not only what I’m eating, but how much, how often, and what times I’m eating. Again, big difference. Lastly is the cardio. I admit, I probably can do a bit better. I’ve been getting in about 4 half hour sessions on the stairmaster a week, but I just can’t seem to make time for much more. I had to cut back roughly a set per lift just to get that in. Nevertheless, overall, things have been well, and I think I’m seeing changes in progress, but then again, I’m my own wosre critic!

WOW!!! I ate absolutely HORRIBLE yesterday! I had a couple of crisis’ at work, which threw me into a tailspin. I had to change my entire schedule around. And then after work, I had promised the boys I mentor that I’d have them at my place for a sleepover. Now that was a lot of fun, but the junkfood was flowing like water. 9 and 12 year olds don’t like to eat clean for some reason! LOL. But today is a new day, and I have to suck yesterday up as a loss, and move forward with today.

I imagine the whole eating multiple small meals throughout the day thing must have some validity. I happy to report I’ve lost 6 lbs in the past two weeks. Only 29 more to go! Pretty excited about that. But I swear, the whole eating thing is like a job within itself. I have to admit, it has gotten easier, but it sometimes becomes a challenge with the job I have to make sure I’m eating every 2.5 to 3 hours. I can’t argue with the results though.

I FINALLY GOT BACK TO THE GYM TODAY! It kinda felt like my best firend had gone away for summer camp, and it was the first time I’ve seen him all summer! Needless to say, it was a great feeling to throw up some serious weight and get a great pump. My injury was still nagging me a bit, but I was able to ignore it for the most part. I had taken last week off from doing chest because I felt like I was over training, and this week it fely awesome to get back to it. Before I knew it, 2 hours had passed, and I was exhausted! A couple people at the gym I see regularly said that they can really tell a difference, and I think I can myself a little bit. Nonetheless, I still have a long way to go, and a lot of work to put in to be beach worthy next year!

My day of rest turned into a mini vacation! I hurt myself, and have barley been able to move the past few days. The pain is one thing, but the pain of not being able to go to the gym in totally different. However, I’m trying to look at it in terms of my body needing this extended break, and my injury was the way to force me to take it. Also, I should be able to go back at it tomorrow or the day after so I guess it’s all good. Up until now I guess I haven’t noticed how serious I’ve been taking this transofrmation. Now I get to go to the gym and up the intensity to make up for time lost. Watch out now!!!
