"Update: Hello my birthday was May 14,2008 and instead of losing weight I gained weight according to my last doctor visit- I am now 170 so my goals have been revised. I want to lose the "spare tire" that I have around my midsection."

Diet Power

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

ITNewibie

I just received my full version of Diet  Power and I am excited to test it out beyond the 15 day   limit that I had before I got the key -Thanks again, Terry Dunkle  for providing me with this great piece of software. It is easy to input your diet and has a favorites function that I enjoy since it cuts back on the time using the program to record your daily intake.

I love the huge database of foods and I am still learning how to use it efficiently
Overall it is a great product- something I have been waiting for awhile -this program motivates me to eat right and see in detail what I am eating.

I have had past experiences with the software especially when I was using it to plan  and record my pre contest diet in 2002 only it was the trial version I was using.

I would love to find more people on this site that has used it  and had successful results from it..

Until next time

Update?

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

ITNewibie

I have not worked out since my last post so it has been awhile - I am monitoring what I eat in the Diet Power program and also in this new diet recording program called the Performance Diet and they seem great -I am still waiting on notification from Diet Power that they received my order and the key is being sent  but no word yet.

I have been feeling ok and did not get a cold this year due to getting my flu shot and drinking lots of green tea -so far so good.

Until I gain enough motivation to exercise this week I wont post since it wont be worthy of this space -Maybe this will motivate  me to workout since I would have something new to write in this space.

Until then

Tracking diet and exercise

Friday, January 25th, 2008

ITNewibie

Hello all,

I reinstated my Diet Power trial version for another 15 days until they find my order and send me a key to activate the full version. Diet still iffy and I am working on that consistency thing with my diet and exercise issues
Worked out  yesterday and did ok and was somewhat  of  an intense session I must say -Later in the day affected my energy levels in relation to the last time I worked out.
Went to Va Hospital today for checkup and found how lucky I am to be in apparent good health -I have been drinking a lot of green tea and I just had black tea this morning for the first time since I stop drinking coffee -Green tea is better tasting. Need to get more although I did hear Greeen and Black Tea have anitbiotic qualties and allegdely  are helpful in alleviating some diseases and conditions. _I have to learn moderation is the key with this dieting method  since herbs and derivatives are not approved by the FDA .

Diet on Track

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

ITNewibie

Hello all,

My diet is getting on track and I am satisfied that it is working in my favor -I just was talking to a friend online and he sent me a zip file with a diet software Program that was working for him called Performance Diet, although it is very detailed with tons of tutorials the input method seems to be very easy -they also have a Meal planner, meal recorder ,exercise recorder and many more features that i have to explore -My diet power software is about to expire (the trial version) as I wait for notification that they got my check in the mail and will send me a key to open the full version I dont know if I will continue to use it but I think I will because I paid for it. I will use them both I suppose.

My exercise routine is the same I wish I had a magic wand to make things better in that area but I know it will take time.

Things Looking Up

ITNewibie

Well I did workout three days in a row -nothing spectacular,  but consistent in nature for me since the last time I worked out in a gym and most of my workouts since the turn of the year have been at home and inconsistent. I did send off a order for a "key" to upgrade from the trial version to the paid version for my software program called Diet Power- that will motivate me a lot to keep my diet and exercise going.
Seeing results in this way is great. I don’t know why I did not do it more. I am lost I am realizing the advantage to monitoring my food intake and exercise rountine via this site. It is great and it does keep me consistent and motivated to record my food intake and exercise routine , if applicable  for that particular day. OH Yeah.

Until next time

Better Day Today

Thursday, January 17th, 2008

ITNewibie

Hello

I am in a better frame of mind I did workout again yesterday the 17th and felt good about my progress little as it maybe but progress nontheless.

I am still recording in Diet Power and took unofficial measurements today no change and I did not expect any significant ones either. More energetic in my workout today learning th ropes again that is always good.  I am still on that morning ritual of green tea and oatmeal -that is a personal truimph so far so good and I have not gotten sick with a cold -could it be that green tea? or my flu shot I got at VA Hospital last month  Heard quite a lot of good thing about it online. It can be almost like the fountain of youth-Now my next obstacle is getting back into the gym on a regular basis -that will come I know it. Time is my friend.

Hello I am back

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

ITNewibie

I had a good workout today at home doing my calisthetics and working with my one dumbbell LOL

I am feeling great as I always do after a decent workout -I just wish that I had the motivation to do this everyday or more frequent instead of once or twice a week -There are many things floating around in my head -school ,finding my identity on every level, and then there is exercise and health it seems to take the back burner almost all the time. And i sort of hate that it has taken that position in my life but I know that it will come back in the majors once I find out who I am -My diet is improving- I had oatmeal for the last two weeks -today with wheat germ. I am consistenly recording my diet daily in my new  software program called Diet Power and it is giving me the motivation I need to see the what is in the food that I am ingesting and determining what is good and bad for my body. I am not doing any aerobics so I am not losing any significant adipose tissue which accumulates around my midriff . So I know at some point I am need to go back to the gym and attack that area. It worked when I was competing but was hard to get off. so I know that I cannot hold back on that area and I am much older than I was back in 2002 when I was competing.

Wish me Luck

My Daily struggle

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

ITNewibie

Hello all,

I did a partial workout w/o weights -just my calisthetics -hopefully will finish this afternoon -just ran out of energy and my mind was scattered with other things going on with school and other daily activities.

I am really struggling with this in home workout thing - I never was good about being discliplined to workout at home since my intial start in 1984 when I started in my friend’s attic when I was in high school. It is hard but I am trying so that is better than nothing.

I was talking with a neighbor who concurred with me about not having the motivation to workout at home although he has a membership at a health club where I used to work as a personal trainer and did also workout there on a regular basis so it was regularly easy for me to be there and work and workout -the perfect relationship which is why I took the job.

Unfortunately it did not work out due to disagreements with the management and the way the organization was run.

Diet Management

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

ITNewibie

well felllow bodybuilders

I finally broke down and downloaded the diet monitoring software Diet Power -the trial version is for 15 days I don’t know if I will have the money to buy the full version after that 15 day period but I will use the info from the program to monitor my diet and exercise routine for this period and maybe thereafter. I am hoping this will help my motivation to accomplish my goals stated on this site. We will see  I was hopiing to workout today but that did not happen at the time of this writing. I did have the full version several years ago when I was working -Believe me if you dont have it you should consider it Here is the website www.dietpower.com  Check it out

Meanwhile my goals are still intact and getting responses to my profile as we speak which is great and visting the forum for chat and ideas from fellow bodybuilders do help tremendously in achieving those goals -thanks
