5 x 5 Back Squat

October 29, 2009

I recently was smashed and beatin badly by swine flu. I spent a solid 9 days down and out, while another two weeks feeling weak and sluggish. That time has passed now, I was feeling a bit froggy.

I did the Crossfit WOD 5 x 5 Back Squat at 275 feeling fairly good.

then bodyweight 5 x 5 Front Squat feeling good.

then 3 rounds of 400 meter sprint 50 air squats.

That was more than enough but sometimes you have to really push the day when you feel it.

Swine Flu recovery

October 15, 2009

Recently I was destroyed by Swine Flu, but you can’t keep a warrior down right ladies and gentlemen so today is my first full workout at 100% lucky for me it a Crossfit MetCon with 5 rounds of 15 Cleans @ 135 and 30 pushups. Both areas I am fairly strong in so, we shall see how crushing this is after a long break. I noticed one thing, my energy level is way down, I dropped about 5 lbs with no effort and still I am not 100% back so this shall be interesting. Stay tuned

Randy (WOD) 3,2,1 - GO!

July 9, 2009

If you are a crossfitter you know exactly what I am talking about. I have been on a journey involving crossfit and finding my personal limits, I ditched the huge guns and over exaggerated chest muscles for a leaner more Spartan warrior motif. I must say it is working. I did a workout called "Randy" from the forum today and rocked it very respectible time.

Randy

75 lbs Power Snatch, 75 reps for time: 4:32

I would suggest any athlete out there throwing in any of the metcon workouts each week into your routine: Benefits improved metabolic conditioning or improved output over time duration. Second greatly increases range of motion and flexibility. Take it on my least favorite workout is 50 24" box jumps in under 5 minutes. Doesn’t seem bad at first second 50 is miserably miserable.
