So I got called back to my job in construction. I’ve been laid off for two months. This is awesome, but my gym time is going to be reduced tenfold. I’m usually out of town mon-fri in small towns without a gym. I will be able to get outside and run, especially with the weather turning to spring.

Did HIIT today on the treadmill.
1.18 miles
253 calories burned (290 lbs)
15 minutes. 1 min @ 7.5 mph, 2 min @ 3 mph
Probably could have done at least one more circuit, but I talked myself out of it because I have legs tonight for my workout, and I’m always sore out of my mind after legs. Next time I will probably add another circuit.

I weighed in at almost 290 on monday, not good at all. I’ve been laid off from work for three weeks and I’ve been to the gym only once, and that was for a lousy cardio day which lasted probably 20 minutes. I’ve been so lazy since I’ve got laid off. I don’t know if it’s depression or just laziness (probably the latter), but I really need to use this time to my advantage. I could be going back to work any day now, and I haven’t gotten anything accomplished.
I started Max-Ot again tonight. I did tuesday’s workout, which is biceps/triceps/abs. I also took a sample on NO-EXPLODE and i really liked it. My chest did feel like it was going to explode when I was warming up, but that subsided. I think it was mostly due to my low cardiovascular level at this time. I had a pretty good workout, but had to skip around because a lot of the equipment I needed was being used when I needed it. I also wish I didn’t take the NO-Explode so close to bedtime either, I want to wake up at a decent time tomorrow and hit the gym again.
Well, I need to get my butt into gear, and I hopefully can stick to it this time.

The Lincoln Police Department is holding tryouts for the police force. There is a written test and a physical test which I will probably do in October. The events for the physical portion are:
120 yard shuttle run: 29 seconds
Vertical jump: 16 inches
Pushups: 21
One minute situps: 28
1.5 mile run: 16:28
I did a few of the events today to see where I’m at. Here are my mediocre results (all passing though):
Vertical: Two attempts, 22" and 21.25" (+6")
Pushups: 27 (+6)
Situps: 29 (+1)
I also ran a mile and a half in 15 minutes on the treadmill the other day. I need to find a track and test myself because it’s harder than on a treadmill. Also, I need to prepare for the 200 yd shuttle. Sounds like a 44 to me.

So I’m starting my third 52 Day Challenge on the Men’s Health forms today. I did one this summer when I lived with one of my friends, and we motivated each other and made sure we held through. I moved out in October and tried another challenge, but that didn’t work well. He’s moving back in with me in April, and we’re both doing this challenge now.
For those that aren’t familiar with the challenge, it’s basically 52 days of goal setting. You set a goal of Clean Eating. My goal is 80/104. The days are split in two, so if you blow a CE in the morning, you’re not likely to blow the rest of the day. Really good system. You also set a lifting goal (23/52 days) and a Cardio goal (29/52). My goals translate to roughly 3 and 4 days per week respectively. I usually am good at getting these in, my clean eating is the challenge. That has always been my downfall, and this challenge helps motivate me for this.
The forms have daily posts where challengers can post there stats, talk to other members, and answer daily questions that a daily host sets up. The forms are here. You also set other personal goals. Mine are: Lose 13 lbs, Wake up before 8am 26/52 days, and read 2 books.

This week started off good. I weighed in lighter than I have in a year, and started my eating and training well. But mid weak kind of screwed me and I’ve been off since. I weigh in tomorrow and I’m not looking forward to it. I plan on hitting the gym tonight after work so maybe that will help me get back on track.

It’s officially 2008. I weighed myself when I woke up and was at 286.8. My weight can fluctuate a few pounds so it my be scewed from drinking last night. I’ll probably post some pics tomorrow or tonight when I get off work and we’ll go from there.

So I start school again in January after taking a semester off. Both my sister and my dad have always been very ADD and I think I have too, just never diagnosed. I have always been very intelligent and have not had to put much effort into studying and whatnot to get by. Last year (my first year of school) really hit me hard. I could not study if I had to. I failed a few courses, and now I’m going to a community school. To try to ensure this doesn’t happen again, I went to my doctor yesterday and he prescribed me Adderall XR 20 mg. I took one yesterday and one today. I seriously think this is going to help SO much. I’ve been motivated to do things that I normally would not do. I do not want to sleep all day either, and I am not as hungry as I use to be. It’s really kind of crazy. I feel like doing something like cleaning my room, and I don’t care that I am going to. I’ve been putting this off and off, and now I just "feel" like doing it. Same with the gym last night. I’m also not craving random food anymore. I really hope I can get some things in my life taken care of, and even though it’s only been a day and a half, it’s looking good so far.

So I was feeling good after taking a day off from lifting, so I went for my personal best on bench and got it at 320. I don’t plan on going for maxes this much, but I really wanted that 320 today. I’m going to work on getting my other personal bests up here, I might make a day of "testing out." I’m kind of scared to do my squat max. I do 3 sets of 8-10 with anywhere from 275-315, so I’m not sure where I’d be at. I might put 500 on the next time I do legs and see if I can do that. I haven’t tested squat since high school, and even then we never did one rep maxes, just 10 reps = so much. I noticed they have that on here too, but I don’t think it’s very accurate. Oh well, I’ll keep ya guys updated!

Pretty happy, hit 315 on bench tonight. I tied my personal best, which I hit my senior year during football. I’m about 30 pounds heavier now, but it’s good to know I’m on the right track.
