Have you ever wondered exactly how many pounds of sweat that you expell during exercise? I play roller hockey every Wednesday night. I’m a goaltender, so I wear a considerable amount of protective equipment. Needless to say, I sweat, a lot. Hell, I’m sweating before I’m full geared up. So, I decided that I would see how much water weight I would lose during a session (2.5 hours).
I got on the Wii Fit, two hours before my session. I drank about 40 oz of water before I weighed in. I drank about another 10 -12oz of water after some Wii Running, and Yoga stuff, balance exercises, the usual. Then I left, and played hockey.
After my game, and a serious shower, I went back over to my parents house to see what the Wii would say. Much to my surprise, I had sweated (is sweated a word?) out an astonishing 5.3 lbs! I knew that I would sweat out at least a couple of lbs, but I wasn’t expecting that much. It goes to show you how important proper hydration is when playing sports.

Alright, so I’ve decided that the main reason that I can not control my diet, is that I don’t really have much of a plan. I know what my weight loss goals are, but that’s about it. With my work schedule being so random, it makes it difficult for me to come up with someone that works for me. I’ve read a lot, but it seems like each thing I read conflicts with everything else. So, I’m open for your suggestions. I need your suggestions.
For starters, I’m 6′ (give or take a half inch), 213lbs. My initial goal I will set at 190lbs. Once we get there, I’ll look at things again. My work schedule is as follows (Beautiful, non-crazy stalkers welcome): Monday 3pm-12am, Tues: Off, Wed:Off, Thurs: 9pm-5am, Fri: 10pm-7am, Sat.3pm-12am, Sun.3pm-12am. So, with my schedule being all over, it hurts the sleep patterns, and the eating patterns. I need help, and I think you guys are the best people to give it to me.
Thanks in advance.

It seems when it comes to working out, I can stay motivated without issue. Of course, some days are better than others, but there has been very few days that I don’t actually want to go to the gym. However, I can’t ever seem to stay focused when it comes to diet. Perhaps it’s because I don’t have a specific diet that I’m working with, but it does seem like I give in to almost all temptations….

Alright, here we go again. I started a couple of years ago. I was 232lbs, saggy, soft, and squishy. I decided that I needed to make a change. I didn’t want to worry about having a heart attack at 45 or anything like that. Plus, I’ve been plagued by low self-esteem since I was a child. I needed to make a change. I joined a gym, and made small and steady advances in my eating. I dropped down to about 190 lbs and was feeling great. My self-esteem was better, but not where I’d like it to be. I then started slacking a little, slowed down on my cardio, and went through the motions of lifting weights, but never pushing myself. Today is a new day though, I’ve gained a bit of weight, muscle and fat, and am sitting around 214 lbs. I’m in a wedding in a few months, and I’d really like to be in the best shape of my life by that time. My goal is to get back down to that 190lbs, but to be stronger than I was when I was originally there.
Today is the starting point…. I just need to keep an eye on my goals, and keep my motivation up.
