Two Days in…

November 10, 2009

Two days in on the Scivation Solution program.  Nothing too out of the ordinary, but I, as do most bodybuilder types, find it difficult to get all my meals in.  Same basic issues, getting everything in at work and such.  But, it’s just part of the deal we need to work out.

Workouts are straight forward and logical so far.  Monday was back and traps, and today was chest and delts.  Cardio comes tomorrow.

Here we go…

November 8, 2009

Tomorrow is day 1 of my new Scivation program, and I couldn’t be more excited!  Derek is starting me out on more cals than I had been doing, around 2200, so I will look forward to seeing how that workouts.  I know the results will be great.  As long as I give it a grade A effort!

The Summer Of Hoosier

June 5, 2009

Well, here we go.  The summer months are FINALLY here.  Thank goodness.  I had it up to my ears in rainy/cold weather…I’m ready for some sun.  The workouts/diet have been spotty lately, mostly due to a very hectic schedule.  Things should slow down a bit this coming week, so I anticipate a return to full hardcore workouts.

The diet will be a work in progress.  It’s been spotty enough lately that I feel my metabolism is in a state of flux.  I hope to get it corrected fairly quickly and continue my quest for abs, abs, and more abs.

So with that, I need a summer theme song.  Anyone have some suggestions?

The fun continues

November 9, 2008

Well, I just finished up my latest diet/workout program.  I dropped 18 pounds during it, plus 1 3/4 inches off my waist.  A pretty good start, but I still have a long, long way to go before jumping on stage next September.  But that’s the fun, right?  This should be a very interesting ride.  In a lot of ways, I have no flipping idea for what I’m in for.  Which is probably best…I have a feeling if I knew everything that was ahead, I’d freek out!

First thing is to get started on my new program, which I should be getting from Derek over the next week.  Not being able to do any shoulder/chest work for now will be a challenge, and I am worried about that.  All I can do for now is to keep pounding my back and legs and the other parts in the mean time.

Yes, I will get up on stage!

October 26, 2008

Well now I’ve done it!  This crazy Hoosier has decided to work towards doing a show.  How f’ing crazy can I POSSIBLY be.  I have sooooo much work to do.  But that’s the point, isn’t it?  I have to set a goal, and it has to be one where I am held accountable.  This seems to be teh best option, and I am in the right frame of mind now to do it.

The show I am targeting is Mr/Ms Natural Indiana 2009 in Indianapolis.  It won’t be until September, so at least I have some time.  But not a lot.  It’ll be hard, but I will be ready!

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

September 18, 2008

Well, in my previous post, I wrote that I didn’t seem to have a motivation, or a goal.  I think most of us actually need one when working out to set the proper direction.   Now, a lot of people have suggested competing, or something along those lines.  Truth is,  competing isn’t something I’m interested in.   Just doesn’t seem to be my thing.   So, I choose something a bit smaller.  Simply, I am setting a goal of losing 1 1/4 inches off my waist by Nov. 8th.  I wanted to set a due date to put some sense of urgency to it.  I think this will be good for me.

Blah Blah Blah

August 27, 2008

Ever get to feeling that way?  Wake up; pound pre-workout shake; Four sets of this for 8 reps, 3 sets of that for 10 reps, hit the cardio…blah, blah, blah.

Post workout meal.  Shower.  Go to work. Meal 2, 3, 4…yeah, blah, blah, blah.

I am thinking I need something more to motivate me.  More than the mirror or the lens.  That’s the problem.  I’m not interested at all in competing.  I really admire what competitors put themselves through to get ready for a contest, and truth be told, it ain’t for me.  So, I’ll have to search myself to come up with SOMETHING.

Shoulder has improved

July 27, 2008

My injured left shoulder has gotten a lot better.   There is still a slight twinge when I raise it laterally, but I think it is just about there.  I may try some lite pressing movements this week, along with some lite lat and front raises in an effort to get the shoulder strengthened.

Oh Man!

July 18, 2008

Injuries always seem to come at a time when you have gotten into a really great groove and are getting results.  That’s what happened to me.  I’ve been in a great grove, really working the diet to get the metabolism up and building muscle.  Then I wake up one day and my left shoulder is throbbing.   Ughhh…I think it was only a strain, not a tear or anything, but it does change things.  I haven’t done any type of pressing movement all week.  I will probably not do any, either, for a least another week, then I will try to do some movements to rehab it.  At least I can do squats with a sore shoulder :)

Weekend Diet

June 21, 2008

Am I the only one who finds it harder to get the nutrition right on the weekend?  I’m much more on the go on Saturday and Sunday than I am during the week, when I am either at home or chained to my desk at work.  And it’s not as much that I eat so bad on the weekend, it’s that I don’t eat ENOUGH.  Weird, ain’t it!
