Trying to find the right motivation again??????

May 2, 2009

About 2 years ago I went on a Weight Watchers diet and starting training for a minimarathon. I quit smoking followed the diet to a tee, starting running 2-4 miles Monday-Friday and long distance on Saturday. I felt really good, healthy and happy. I lost 43 pounds doing this. Slowly it started to change. I would cheat on my diet a little and still lose weight, so the next week I would cheat some more and some more and some more. I after I ran the  minimarathon I started smoking again and ended up putting all 43 pounds back on. That made me lose my motivation. Ever week I’m ready to start again and by Wednesday I’ve already blown it. I need to find the right motivation. I watch the Biggest Loser, and it saddens me that they have no faith in themselves to do the workouts or to just lose weight. THAT IS ME! I don’t have faith in myself to stick with, i don’t have the right motivation. I watch the Biggest Loser and watch the contestents cry when they see pics of what they looked like on Day 1 and tell themselves the WILL NOT GO BACK TO LOOKING LIKE THAT! I look and myself in the mirror and wonder why I can’t stick with it. I don’t want to go back to looking round and fat. I want a good healthy body when I am 50+ years old. I want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. I want to be able to take my shirt off and not be embarrassed. I want my very soon-to-be wife to say "Damn." (lol). I just need to realize I can do and stick with for the right reasons this time. I will talk to you all next week and tell you that I stuck with it and I am ready to kick some fat ass…………..

Week 3 & Starting 4…Kris Gethin video trainer program

February 10, 2009

I know it’s been awhile. I had to put my workout on pause for a week because of a stomach virus. Boy was it fun spending my time on the toliet (lol). I haven’t got around to posting my workouts since the last one. Week 3 went pretty well; the workouts were killer. Towards the end of the week I started to feel tired and slacked on cardio, but I am getting ready to do 35 minutes on the "Mean Machine" (elliptical) in my basement. I have lost 10 pounds total and am on my way to 180 pounds. I don’t think I will get there before my wedding but I will be close. I have got 2 other guys at my work to do the workout program and they love it. I will post again this weekend and update my weight (hopefully down 2-3 pounds). Until then……..

Week 2…Kris Gethin video trainer program

January 25, 2009

Week 2 is over and it was just as rough as the first week. I love workouts that I have to fight myself to finish. It’s funny when I’m throwing up light weight and can’t get 15 reps cause my muscles are exhausted. I haven’t really looked at all of week 3 but it looks like Kris just rotates every exercise up and then adds another new one. I don’t care how he does I am looking forward to another great and hard week. I lost 2 pounds in week 2 YEA!!!!! I love this program…….

Kris Gethin Video Trainer……

January 11, 2009

I am going to start the Kris Gethin video trainer program. It is a 12-week transformation program; I will be starting a week late, but that’s okay. I joined their Bodyspace group and read some of the comments that other members left and everyone seems to really like the program. Right now I need all the help I can get. I will be doing a weekly blog on my workouts for that week. So stay tuned and watch as I transform into a lean mean fighting machine and win the 2009 Muscle Tech Contest……lol.

2009 a new year to begin…….

December 30, 2008

With 2009 approaching it’s time to make some New Year resolutions. First and most important I’m going to work my butt of to get below 10% bodyfat before my wedding in May. Second I am going to quit smoking once and for all! Third I am going back on Weight Watchers to get my eatting back on track. Fourth I going to start running again for the Kentucky Derby Minimarathon and get in shape just in case any local police or fire department decides they want to hire. Finally I am going to enter the Muscle Tech Transformation Contest and hopefully win the $20,000 (and I need it). I am motivated to start the new year. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and everyone has a wonder New Year. Good luck with everyones resolutions. I will be posting my weekly blog for updates. Wish me luck!

My Matt Bliss 16 Week Transformation Challenge…..

November 28, 2008

I was reading one of the articles about Matt Bliss’ 16 week transformation. I got motivated; I have just about the same goals that he is striving for. We are built almost alike, except he has more muscle, so I can see what he does with his workout and diet and especially cardio, to see how he loses weight. I am going to challenge myself to match pound for pound his progress. So it is My Matt Bliss Challenge…….. So it is on starting on Monday December 1st!!!!

What the crap…….

November 19, 2008

What the crap? I spent time coming up with what I think is a good program to loose bodyfat and weight and still maintain some muscle. All that time and I have yet to go a whole week comitted to the program. I will start off good and slack of in the middle. I just don’t know. I am writing this to try and get motivated. I did it before! I went from 223 to 184 and it didn’t seem that tough. The diet was find (Weight Watchers) and all I did was the elliptical 1-2 hours a day. And then I let myself go and gain almost all the weight back, well all but 8 pounds. WTF! Why did I do that? I don’t know. Now I am having a hard time getting back on track. I know that if you get knocked down, you get back up and try again. So hopefully this will motivate me and I am going to start fighting again. I DID IT BEFORE I CAN DO IT AGAIN!!!

So hard to get in the groove…..

November 12, 2008

It’s so hard to get back into the groove, especially with the diet. I eat pretty good but not good enough. I’ve changed my workout a little since my last blog. It will be:

Monday

  • AM - HIIT (30 mins)
  • PM - 30 mins on elliptical

Tuesday

  • AM - HIIT (30 mins)
  • PM - Legs/Shoulders (3 x 10)

Wednesday

  • AM - HIIT (30 mins)
  • PM - 30 mins on elliptical

Thursday

  • AM - HIIT (30 mins)
  • PM - Biceps/Back (3 x 10)

Friday

  • AM - HIIT (30 mins), 30 mins Low-intensity on treadmill or elliptical

Saturday

  • PM - Chest/Triceps (3 x 10)

I hope this workout works. I am trying to maintain and loose bodyfat. I want to get down to 175-180 or have below 10% bodyfat. I plan on using the following supplements:

  • Mulitivitamin
  • Whey protein
  • BCAA
  • Glutamine
  • L-carnitine
  • Vitamin C

My diet on non-workout days will usually be:

  • AM post workout - Protein shake
  • 9am - Oatmeal
  • 12pm - Turkey sandwich
  • 3pm - Turkey sandwich
  • 6pm - Lean meat/green veggies
  • -maybe another shake in there some where…….

On workout days is will usually be:

  • Oatmeal upon waking
  • Post workout - Protein shake
  • then every 3 hours eat
  • No carbs after 4pm

On lifting days I will be doing 3 exercises per bodypart with about 30 second rest time between sets. For my HIIT program; I will be doing a 5 min warm-up, 30 second sprint, 30 seconds off, I will do that from the 5 min mark to the 25 min mark, and then do a 5 min cool down. So I will only be doing 20 mins of the actual HIIT, and 10 mins of warm-up/cool-down.

If anyone sees anything wrong, please let me know.

Thanks
