Help with night time knoshing!

Hey guys! I need help or ideas for when the night time hunger strikes! I eat very clean all day but as soon as 8pm hits I am very hungry!!! And of course I want something sweet and if I give in I regret it later and feel awful! What can I do to over come this? I have tried keeping myself busy and all, but then  end up going to bed starved and then wake up at midnight wanting to eat something and I have a hard time sleeping when I feel very hungry at that point. PLease help me with some ideas or something?

Do and of you get that way where soon as the night comes your hungry and crave the bad stuff??

My husband is a midnight snacker. He started drinking a protein shake before he went to bed and it has slowed down his nightly trip to the kitchen.

try to eat something right before you go to bed….like an apple, protein shake, bowl of oatmeal, something healthy but small like that to tide you over till morning….heck even eggs will do the trick

    Thanks for the tips!!!!
The problem though is because I am on this eating plan I’ve already ate my 5-6 meals throughout the day……so if I were to have another shake or something before bed wouldn;t I be cheating??

Couple questions for you: How much are you eating during the day and when was dinner - are you depriving yourself in the evening? If 8 pm is about 2-3 h after your last meal then yeah you should be hungry and it is time to eat. If you are going to bed hungry no surprise you want to nosh. Get some protein into you - a shake with a mix of whey(fast digesting) and casein (slow digesting) before you go to bed. That should also take care of the sugar cravings. If you do wake up and want to nibble try nibbling on frozen blueberries or strawberries - low cal, filling, sweet. If you need chocolate just drizzle some hershey’s syrup over the strawberries.
    Best

Get yourself some Flax seed oil, or even better VPX makes a blend called Thinfat. It is a very good blend of essential fats and also includes CLA. I usually take 1/2 tablespoon by itself or with a protien shake as my last meal around 8:00pm . The healthy fats really help kill the hunger and they will also help blunt cortisol production as you sleep.
