OMG!!!

November 1, 2009

Well the end of the semester is nearing and somehow I have more and more homework piled on. I got a bit behind so my training schedule had to be sacrificed since I’m on scholarship. 2 weeks ago my mom bought me $125 running shoes, supposed to be a Christmas present, and I’ve only used them once. uGH!!! I’m so ready for school to be over with so I can get a good schedule in. So far I’m taking advantage of the new time change till my body gets used to it to hit the gym in the am. Next semester won’t be any better since I’m taking 8 credit hours but since they’re science courses they require more time and I’ll be going Mon-Fri not to mention working 40 hours. Hopefully I can put together a stickable schedule for then.

In more news, in hopes to ratify my calories I’ve started weight watchers which I had great success with before. I’m mainly trying to keep up with my calories without a bunch of numbers to deal with. So far I can’t stick to my daily points which equals a problem but this week is trial and error and hopefully by the end of the week I can stick to my points.

It’s not easy..

September 3, 2009

It’s not easy doing what I have to do everyday, a lot of people couldn’t handle it. I work in a pharmacy, I have been for 5yrs now, but all of a sudden they have dropped our hours so low, 58/week, that I’m starting to wonder how I’m going to be able to lose body fat and not get fired from my job. I work 40 hours a week, but about 3 weeks ago they made a rule that pharmacy techs cannot bring food into the pharmacy, since they cut our hours, I cannot leave the pharmacists alone and go eat, they don’t have enough experience doing the cash register and multitasking because they haven’t had to for the last 15+ years! Walgreens has all of a sudden put the pharmacists at the cash register expecting them to multitask like we were trained to do. It’s insane.

I hate not being able to eat majority of the day, but what choice do I have? Lose my job? I don’t think so, not at $14/hour! I’ve gotten so many suggestions for putting things in my pocket, purse, etc….I’m not allowed to have a purse in the pharmacy…and if I bring food in and the camera sees me eat it…..bye bye job. It’s absolute bull**** but I have to deal with it.

I used to do the work of 2 people, now I’m expected to do the work of 4 people….and take 13 credit hours at USF! I’m so exhausted all the time I don’t know how much more of this I can take! Thank God for caffeine otherwise I wouldn’t make it throughout the majority of my day.

Back in the game

August 23, 2009

Back in the game! I did workouts 4 times this week, how exciting! I did 3.17 mile walk/jogs all week, however on Thursday I started training to run a 5k to get me back into the running game. Thursday I did 3.17 miles in 50 min, 4 min walk and 1 min jog intervals, same for Friday except I did the 3.17 miles in 45 min. Last night I did 3.96 miles in 57 min and upped my intervals to 3 min walk and 2 min jog. Today was my day off. Tomorrow morning doing 4 miles of the 3 min walk 2 min jog intervals then coming back and doing abs and arms then legs after I get off work at 9pm. I did to start working on my legs but my abs still need work as well.

Thank Goodness it’s over!!

August 16, 2009

Well I’ve completed my 7-week Biology II course, whether I passed or not is the question that will be answered sometime this week. I worked my ass off and I didn’t exercise at all because I spent every available minute studying for that class. It’s hard to put so much information in in such a short period of time. This coming semester won’t be as difficult I imagine. Even though I’m taking 13 credit hours, I feel because it’s a full semester I’ll have time to get all the information in and it won’t be as stressful. Truthfully, I think I’m only taking 2 hard classes, Polymer Physics (Special Topics in Chemistry..applies to my major) and Great Lit of the World (Exit Writing Intensive Course, required to graduate). My other 2 classes won’t be as difficult, World Regional Geography (Humanities course, required to graduate) and Issues in Sports (counts toward my 48 hours required of 3000+ courses to graduate).

I’ll only be going to classes on Tues/Thurs mornings and then go straight to work afterwards. I won’t have classes on Mon/Wed so I’ll be going to work in the morning and be able to go on a walk/run in the evening when I get off work :) Also, since this is a major university….lots of walking will be involved so I’ll get workouts there too.

Exciting times…can’t wait to workout this week but I gotta take it slow. Tuesday morning will probably be a 3 mile walk then work it upward from there. Hopefully by Friday I’ll be able to do 6 miles walking then can start my running back up from there. Trying to avoid injuries.

School starts tomorrow

June 28, 2009

Well back to school I go tomorrow night. I now will be working Monday thru Thursday 9am-4:30pm and Friday 12:30pm-9pm. I’ll be going to school from 6pm-9pm Monday thru Thursday. Thanks to school being at least 30 min away depending on traffic, I’ll be going straight from work to school and getting home roughly around 9:30pm-9:45pm. I’m taking tomorrow off from working out just to see how I’m going to feel and how things flow to get a better idea of how and when to stick in exercise. I’m going to follow the same schedule I would follow if I were to exercise in the morning, getting up at 6am tomorrow. I’ll see how I feel after I get done with classes to see if I can exercise at night. If I’m lucky I’ll be able to fit it in twice :) We shall see.

Housecleaning=Workout

June 27, 2009

There are so many ways to workout while I clean today. I’m going to put my ipod in the radio so I can listen to some great music. I need to clean my kitchen, clean out the appliances, mop, vaccum, etc. I’ve got a bunch to do but I have so many ideas on how to turn this into a workout. I can wear wrist weights while mopping for a great upper body workout and while washing anything. I’m going to do lunges while I vaccum and of course carrying huge loads of laundry is a great upper body workout. Anytime I bend down I’m going to do a squat instead of bending over and if I have to lean to do anything I’m going to do leg raises. I should put my other pair of weights around my ankles so I get a better workout while I clean today. I have a ton to do so hopefully I’ll burn lots of calories today! Plus going to the apartment complex’s gym tonight for a workout since the wonderful Florida weather isn’t cooperating today. It’s been lightening, rain, thunder, etc…all day with few short bursts of sunlight. Well gotta go clean!

I never thought I’d see the day…

June 26, 2009

I never thought I’d see the day when I would be as fit as I am today, yes I know it rhymes. ha ha. Anyway…I’ve always been a big girl and in my late teens I was 130-135lbs and what I would call skinny fat. I didn’t have abs but I was skinny…just no tone. In February 2008, I realized that I was 155lbs and it was time for a change. I had officially become fat and I was unhappy with the way I looked, even though my boyfriend continually told me I didn’t need to lose weight. Last year was nothing but yo-yoing with diets. I couldn’t stick with it because the results weren’t showing, I lost a few pounds and was like ok whatever. Towards the end of last year I realized that I had changed some eating habits and that my pounds lost were staying off for the most part…I learned to maintain my weight….which was a great change. January 5, 2009 I decided to start exercising again and dieting, and this time I used Slimquick and my boyfriend used Hydroxycut. It worked and I got down to 140 but couldn’t get over the hump from 140 to 139. The first week of February we flew out to California for my boyfriend’s brother’s wedding and after that I got really sick with bronchitis for 3 weeks. I lost weight cause I couldn’t eat very much but I couldn’t get back in the mood to exercise. It wasn’t until the beginning of April that I finally found the strength to exercise and start eating right, completely. At the beginning of May, I was 142lbs. I lost 6lbs during the month of may and started June out at 136lbs. I refound this website and came back on and started strength training a lot…more than I had done previously. I have never seen my abs ever….and now they are starting to develop and look incredible. I never thought I’d see this day, I always figured it was too hard or I couldn’t work hard enough to get them. Now, I realize that if I keep up my good eating and exercise habits they can become more! I’m so excited to keep trucking on in my journey and hopefully my goal weight of 120 is not far off!

Trying something new

June 25, 2009

Today I’m in the mood to try something new, since I’ve gotten jogging down for at least 1/2 mile without passing out I’ve decided it’s time to take it up a notch. Today I’m going to walk as usual for a 10 min warmup, then jog, then sprint for as long as I can, then jog, then back to walk and walk until recovered then repeat for 5.31 miles. I think this will hopefully shock my body into losing more weight cause I’m getting tired of seeing the same freakin numbers on the scale and on my measuring tape. My body hates letting go of weight and by God, I’m going to freakin make it lose weight whether it likes it or not…I’m at a healthy weight but I’m to close to the maximum weight for my height and age, need to be 120! Or at least somewhere in that general area.

If this works the way I think it’s going to, I’ll probably do it again tomorrow morning before work. :)

Rain=Cooldown

June 24, 2009

FINALLY!!!!! RAIN!!!! And the day it cools down I decide to take off from working out, of course I don’t want any injuries so it has to be done.

Right now it’s 76 feeling like 76!! Yesterday at this time it was 87 feeling like 102. What a difference the rain makes! The high for today is 95, feeling like 99 but at least it’s not in the 100’s! Plus it’s supposed to rain again..yay!!! I plan on going out tomorrow morning around 7am and it’s supposed to be 76 feeling like 80 and if I’m out there 2 hours it’ll only go up to 81 feeling like 87!! No more pouring sweat like a madwoman. Lately it’s gotten so hot that when I stop to stretch I’m literally dripping sweat…my clothes are completely soaked with sweat before my workout is even over and that’s on a short workout day! On my 7 mile workouts EVERYTHING including socks are soaked with sweat. It’s crazy…at least it won’t be that bad this week. Yay!!
