First Beach Workout

June 30, 2008

Well I moved to Chesapeake to take a job as a special education teacher, football, wrestling and strength coach two weeks ago but today was the first time I got to workout and I am beat.  I did 30 mins of the elliptical, then went to lifting with my kids and we hit it hard.  I think I was able to show the kids how to work hard and I got a hell of a workout in the mean time.  We did chest, shoulders, traps and triceps and I am still stinging from the supersets I had them do.  We lift three days a week so I will be able to lift with them and supplement workouts at home too.  The people out here are great, the woman and beautiful and the guys are cut up so it’s go time for me.  I don’t have to work until September so this gives me a great chance to workout and drop some fat.  Hope everyone is doing well, keep working hard.

Low carb and heavy weights = headache and dizziness

May 19, 2008

Well it’s the same old problem, I want to lose fat fast but get stronger…doesn’t happen.  I started a 5×5 program tonight and hadn’t eaten 20carbs all day.  Needless to say I was hurting.  I think my heavy bench day might be my high carb day from now on.  Things went ok I suppose, although not having a spotter does make me nervous at times, hopefully I can figure out what schedule every one is on.  Anyway I need a snack before bed.  Keep up the good work everyone.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

May 18, 2008

This morning I woke up, took a look in the mirror and realized that, while I look a lot better than I did in December, that I am no where near where I should be at this point.  Excuses have faultered my progress, too tired, too busy, too overworked, too many excuses.  I have been lifting heavy, not doing cardio, and pretty much eating whatever the hell I wanted.  Not really what I was hoping for.  My weight has gone up and down, up and down.  I haven’t keep good record of it and really haven’t pushed myself the way I was.  Today that is stopping, the summer is almost here, I am moving to the Beach and really can’t go out there looking like this.  I have 6 weeks until the move, 6 weeks to get my ass moving.  I am going back to recording everything, what I eat, when I work out, and how I feel.  I have two more weeks of work for the school year and then 3 months off.  I know I will make great progress over the summer, with so much time on my hands, but I must begin now.  I am going to the store, buying groceries and starting over.  I know it seems like the same old song and dance but seriously it’s either shit or get off the pot time.

Back but still busy

April 7, 2008

It’s been over a month since I posted last but that doesn’t mean I’ve been slacking off.  I have strived to workout as much as my schedule allows and am pretty pleased with my success.  I am still losing fat, just at a slower rate but I am really happy about the strength I’ve gained back.  I can’t squat anymore because of my back so my lower body only gets worked when I do cardio.  I ran into some problems because I was taking Ambien, apparently it was making me eat when I was sleeping.  I am off that stuff now so I don’t have to worry about it any more.  I word to the wise, if you don’t really need it stay away from it.  Your body adapts too quickly and you need more and more each time to get the same effect.

On a positive note I am still I am excited about the strength I’ve added to my upper body.  I am back to benching 365, hopefully will get to 405 by the end of the month.  I met some people at the gym and it’s a lot easier to get someone to spot me now.  I am sticking with a 2 on 1 off routine but am doing cardio on my non-lifting day.  My diet still sucks but it is getting better.

90 mins of cardio

February 24, 2008

Saturday I did 90 minutes of cardio 30 on the elliptical, 30 on the treadmill and 30 on the exercise bike.  It felt damn good but I still need to concentrate on my diet.  I worked out hard this week but still haven’t seen the results  I desiree.  Oh well I think I might so low carb the next two days to get things back on track to kick start my metabolism.  I am very disappointed with my measurements but I need to keep going.

Too busy to post

February 23, 2008

This past week I have been working out hard but just haven’t been motivated to get on here and post.  I have been doing at least 45 mins of cardio a day and have still continued with my circuit training.  Today I think I might go for a walk/run for about an hour but haven’t decided where.  I was almost thinking of trying to do a mile run for time to see where I am at but we will see.  Tomorrow I am going to weigh in and check my body stats, take pics so I will post again then.  Hope everyone is still working hard.  It would be a hell of a lot easier if I had someone to workout with or someone to keep me focused.  I am still thinking about the beach and still think about my ex when I workout but it often becomes mentally draining.  Ok I need a shower then I’m off to start my day.

Down With the Sickness

February 19, 2008

Well the middle of last week I hit a wall, I was sick as a dog and could do nothing more than get up go to work, come home and sleep.  I felt terrible and was in no mood for anything physical.  My body hurt, my throat hurt, I had a bitching head ache and I just wanted to be left alone.  So I didn’t do as well as I should of, didn’t follow any real diet per say and didn’t bother checking my stats for the week as I knew they would have sucked.  Tonight I got back at it and did 3 rotations of my upper body circuit and an hour of cardio.  It was a hell of a lot harder than it should have been but I guess the lay off got me a little side tracked.  I went out and bought groceries for the week, I really need to concentrate on my diet as I know as much as I have been working out the past couple of months I should be a hell of a lot smaller than I am.  I know it’s 3am, I cant sleep but I am getting up at 615 for 45 minutes of cardio before work, then some coffee and then a nice long day with the lovely children.  Anyway I am going out the beach for a few days on March 13th so I have set a short of term goal of dropping 20 lbs before then.  I know it’s a huge drop in a short time but I think if I am motivated enough I can do it.  I will do 45 mins of cardio in the morning and an hour at night except when I do my arm workout.  I am going to keep with the rotation, upper body circuit with an hour cardio, arms only, and then an hour of cardio the third day, it worked well two weeks ago so hopefully I can really push it with proper dieting the next 3 1/2 weeks before the beach.  By the way the RED ab machine is nice but I dont know it it works yet, I don’t really feel anything, but we will see if it tones my midsection any.  Good night.

Beach Body Needed

February 12, 2008

Well the past couple of days have been a pretty crazy around here.  We have a lot of brush fires and roughly 2400 acres have burned right behind where I work so we have been closed for the past two days.  I have been working out but not as hard as I was last week…that is up until tonight.  Tonight I did my upper body circuit at home and I am spent.  45 minutes of total cardio on the elliptical and hitting the dumbbells pretty intensely.  I am focused once again because yesterday I found out that I will more than likely be moving out to Virginia Beach this summer to take one of two open teaching and coaching jobs out there.  They are in the same school district so basically I will have to figure out whether I want to coach football and wrestling or just wrestling.  The pay is a hell of a lot better so I will have some more cash to spend on the ladies…haha.  All the money in the world won’t help me out there though, I need to be cut as well.  I am not a huge fan of the beach but I figure it will grow on me.  Anyway I bought "The Red" abdominal machine tonight and used it after my workout, it works pretty good, much better on my back than that dumbass ab lounge and a hell of a lot smaller.  I will hopefully hit it every morning for at least 15 mins before work.  It’s easier to do while I watch the news than go out and hit the elliptical.  Anyway I’m off to bed, keep it up everyone.

Breaking the 300 Barrier

February 10, 2008

For the first time in 4 years I am under 300 lbs.  I was so happy my face hurt.  All the extra cardio this week really helped out a lot.  The best thing my skin is tightening up as my measurements are getting smaller as well.  It feels so damn good but the journey is not over, I need to keep working hard.  I need to input all my data, keep up all the good work everyone.

Back at it

February 9, 2008

Well yesterday I was suppose to workout but didn’t, I just needed some rest I believe because today I felt pretty damn good.  Tonight I did my circuit training, only did 30 minutes of cardio though.  Tomorrow is weigh in day so we will see if all this cardio this week paid off, it feels like a month since I checked my stats, time is really slowing down.  I looked in the mirror and think I made some progress but only time will tell.  Anyway I am hitting the sheets, gnite all.
