Today is an off day for me. I hit it hard 3 days in a row. I’ve been doing an hour of cardio every workout. I do a 30 mins on the treadmill before the weights, then 30 mins on the eliptical. The fat just wasn’t coming off fast enough. I lost 5 lbs so far. I still need to clean up the diet more. That’s always the hard part for me.  I’ll be back in the gym tomorrow, but then I have to leave Sunday to go to Iowa for a week or two. I’ll have to find a gym and pay day rates to keep it going. I think I need to go back on my tuna and talapia diet to help get the fat off. I can’t seem to lose fat unless I go on a strict , regimented diet. Staying in a motel and trying to cook enough healthy food for the whole day is just to hard to do with my work schedule. Plus I love to eat all the bad stuff. I know it just comes down to discipline, but for some reason I’m having a hard time getting back in the groove. If I clean up the diet and stick with the hour of cardio the fat should start falling off. If not something is wrong.. How many 335 lb guys do you know who do an hour of cardio ?? Train hard people and leave those cookies alone, I am !!!

Man it was nice to be back in the gym last night. I had been on a road trip and hadn’t worked out in almost 2 weeks. Yeah, it’s bad enough I work on the road every week. But, then they send me out to do inspections. On the road from the road. Anyway, I decided to change things up. I did 30 mins of treadmill as soon as I got to the gym. I did 2 exercises for chest and 1 for biceps. Then I did 30 mins of eliptical trainer. I’m big enough and would rather get leaner while keeping my muscle. Plus I’m too damn old too weigh 340 lbs. I need to clean up my diet more and keep doing the hour of cardio everyday. I jumped on the scale last night and had lost 5 lbs. Well time for my pre-workout nap people ! Train Hard !

Great Chest workout last night ! I got those 120 pound dumbells for 10 reps last night on Incline Dumbell Press. They stiill felt pretty heavy, but not as bad as last week. I’m encouraged though because the 100’s are feeling light. Back and Triceps are tonight. I’m gonna move up to 45 pound plates on each side of the Ez-Curl Bar for my Skull Krushers. I’ve been doing 35’s, and they are just getting too light. I may try 50’s on my One Arm Extentions. I did 45’s for 8 good reps last week. I may not be losing much fat, but I’m getting stronger. Gonna jump on scale tonight. I’m thinking I might be 340….. Size 4XL T-Shirts here I come ! Train Hard & Heavy People !!

I’m feeling a little confused. I gained another 3 pounds. Man, that puts me at 337 ! I always gain weight at first when I start eating clean, but this is ridiculous. My size 38 pants still fit, but the legs are getting tight. I kinda have a phobia about needing to wear size 40 pants. That is like my fatass line. I really don’t want to cross it. I already wear size 40 carpenter jeans to work so that they’re not too tight on my legs. The past 2 days I even cut back on my meals. But still gained 3 pounds. I’m doing 30-45 mins of eliptical trainer after every workout. I’m also getting strong as hell. I’m gonna crank up the cardio to at least an hour and see how it goes. Hopefully that works. If not 350 here I come !!

Heavyweight Log #4

The Hillgiant is worn out tonight. I did another 5 pound jump on incline dumbell presses. But man those 120’s were Heavy ! I only got them for 8 reps. I think I’ll just do them again next week and not move up again untill I get them for 10 reps. Still a great workout though ! I did 70,80.90.100, and 110’s for 10 reps before the 120’s. The 25 year old working out with me went up to 65’s and about dropped them on his head. Time to eat and get some sleep. Train Hard People !!!

I’m sitting here drinking a nice cold Molson Ice. Celebrating the fact that I did 115 pound dumbells for 10 reps on Incline tonight !!! 120’s are up next week. I think the fact that I took a 2 hour nap before my workout helped a lot.  I had a great leg workout last night as well. I hadn’t been doing legs that often, but it’s time to get them big again. I’ll update my Leg Press weights once I quit using whimpy ones… Train Hard People !!!!

5 pound jump #2 was a success. I moved up to 110 pound dumbells on incline press tonight. It hurt like hell, but I got 10 reps.  8 more 5 pound jumps till I get to the 150’s. Wish me luck :)

Last week after 3 weeks off from lifting, I did 100 pounders for 10 reps on Incline Dumbell Press. This week I bumped up to 105 pounders and nailed 10 reps. I’m gonna jump 5 lbs every week untill I either get to the 150’s or drop one on my head !!!!

Hillgiant News #6

The Hillgiant is back. I’m working in Pontiac, Mich now. Training at the Powerhouse Gym in Rochester Hills. Man is it great to be back in a real gym. I’m back on my diet full force and feel great. To my surprise, my strength is still up. It was hard to get motivated in the last gym I trained in. It was less than basic, but it was the best one within an hour of where I was working. I even have a training partner now. Logan came back to work with me on the road, and wanted to start lifting. We work 10 hour days then take a 2hour break then go to the gym and tear it up. He’s 15 years younger than me but if I don’t start taking it easy on him I think he’ll quit. I try to take it easy on him in the gym, but our work isn’t easy either. We throw 200 lb railroad ties around all day. I wouldn’t even let him go to the gym with me last night. I told him to go to bed.. He was still a zombie today, and we only worked 4 hours. We did shoulders, abs and cardio tonight and it about killed him. Well it’s time for me to go to bed. Train hard everyone !!!!

Man do I need to get back on track. I have missed so many workouts, and been eating like a total fatass. First I got sick then I bought a house. Now my company has sent me to work in BFE Kentucky. There are no gyms within like 50 miles of where I am. But I bought more dumbells and have been working out in my hotel room. I’m slowly getting back on track with my diet.  Time to get creative with my dumbells……
