Thanksgiving

November 23, 2009

So Thanksgiving is this week and I was wondering what everyone’s plans are? Are you spending it with your family or doing your own dinner? My husband and I are cooking our own dinner. I am excited about that because I LOVE to cook. He works night shift and does have to work that night so it would be murder on his sleep to do the big family get together. This will be the first thanksgiving for Lillia that she will be able to understand what’s going on too (She was just under 2 months old last year) so it will be fun for us. Also what’s everyone doing to maintain their nutrition goals..or are you? Are you going to take the holiday to cheat a bit? What are your family traditions? Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! : )

Wipe your machine please : )

November 22, 2009

So I was just playing around on here and answering some of the questions they have. One of them was about who do you find the most annoying at the gym…and it made me think about those really nasty, lazy, sweaty people who never wipe the machines down. UGH this makes me cringe SO much. I can’t even count how many times I’ve gone to use something and it’s drenched…or looked over and some sweaty guy walks away and never returns. The wipes are right there! This is how MRSA and other diseases are spread people! Clean your stuff. It’s just plain nice. lol Well now that my rant is over I will say that I did well this week and set some future goals. Excited about that. I was thinking about the future last night a bit. I can’t wait for June. I should be damn close to the body I want and my birthday is in June. Possible first EVER bikini?? I am SO throwing a party…seriously. haha. So how was everyone’s week and weekend? I hope well. Have a great week. : )

Good losses this week

November 15, 2009

Hey everyone : ) So I did my measurements for the week and I lost 4.4 lbs! That’s amazing. I am so excited about that. Gonna stick to my routine and eating well and hope to see great results like that this week.

On another note… I am feeling drained. Not just -Ineed sleep- tired (which I do) but just everything. My daughter is teething and her mood and personality do a complete 180 when this happens. It’s insane. I am also putting in my application to nursing school this week and touring so I’m stressed about that. I haven’t really dressed up lately so I kinda feel like crap. And I know that last sentence sounds a little odd, but if you have kids you probably know what I mean. I have no time to do my hair or make up or anything so after a while of looking at myself in the mirror and seeing frayed pony tails, dark circles and sweat pants…it’s not pretty. I just need a good pick me up…

well thanks for reading…here’s to another good week! catch me on twitter www.twitter.com/heatzie

Been a while…

November 11, 2009

Hey, so it’s been a while since I last blogged and I thought I should post something, mostly because I’m bored! lol : ) I have been doing pretty well and am proud of myself for it. I feel great, am looking great (to me, but I know I still have a long road ahead) and have a TON more energy.

Last week was crazy with schedules and our car broke down so unfortunately I used it as an excuse to slip and went above 200 again (201) so am a little p.o’d at myself but I hopped right back on with a new routine and am happy about that. I have been keeping up with my journals and that helps. Really helped me realize just how much I use schedule deviations as an excuse to not get a workout in or to eat crappy so I’ve challenged myself the next time that happens (and with a 1yr old it will lol) to not give in even if I have to pop a dvd in and do it at home or run with the dog SO much better than just giving up! I’m all about challenges so I almost can’t wait until this one comes up haha.

Oh and the new routine I started Sunday. OH WOW. It’s Wednesday and my legs are still aching. Icy Hot is my best friend right now. It’s amazing. It’s mostly body strength which I SUCK at so it was a real shocker to the body and a new challenge to get better at something I am bad at.

Still keeping up my cardio and have added in treadmill (because I’ve always wanted to be a runner but have never been good at it). A friend of my husbands asked us to do a fun run with him in December for cancer and we couldn’t and didn’t want to say no so now I have to become a runner haha. Seriously though it’s a good push.

Well sorry to ramble, but thanks so much for reading! Oh and I know I put it on my motivation too, but if you have twitter…add me!  It will be a great way to keep in touch and keep on track! @heatzie  Thanks for reading! : )

Yell at me…

August 19, 2009

okay so I’ve been slacking a bit lately..alright a lot : ( PLEASE if you’re reading this, tell me off! lol. I am so mad at myself. I am still losing, which is awesome (that’s gotta mean something is goin right with the metabolism) but I’ve started eating crappy again and my workout routine has been hit or miss so time to get back to it. Also I put up a new progress pic so let me know what you think. THANKS! : )

New measurements and pics

July 19, 2009

Well today was supposed to be the big day… to see that first pic. I must have worked it up way to much in my mind because instead of being excited and more motivated I’m actually pretty bummed. I really don’t see a difference. My numbers are all down again so I mean that is great and I’m not going to stop. I guess just work towards the next pic! My husband just came in, he says he sees it. Am I sabotaging myself? I just don’t see it. I’m glad about the numbers dropping though. That says something. Well..time for some oatmeal and a nap for my daughter.

SO excited!

July 12, 2009

I just did my measurements…not bad. I only lost 3 pounds which I was a little disappointed in..until I measured my body. I had some real losses. That’s exciting. I have really been busting out the cardio and sticking to the clean eats so I guess it’s paying off! It’s time to amp it up though. While it’s good to see that what I lost apparently was the fat…I want to see a bigger weight loss in the week than that.

I was playing around on shape.com last night and they have some great tools to help build a good workout. I am going to stick to my major cardio and just up it in the strength training department. I am adding in cable and stability ball exercises as well as medicine ball stuff too. I am dedicating one whole day a week to nothing but cardio and MIDSECTION. That dreaded place on my body where everything really likes to hide lol. So hopefully targeting that will really knock off the lbs.

My husband and I are going to compete for motivation. He has a different goal than I do..he wants to gain and add muscle. He’s such a hard gainer. As I joked with afmz3 he eats and eats and loses and I smell stuff and gain…it’s insanity lol. But we decided to compete to see how can make the most gains toward our goal in a week. I am going to kick his butt and he is going to be doing dishes for a week! haha : D If that’s not motivation I don’t know what is? haha! He is on my friends list so look him up and help cheer us on = )

Well I’ve been sticking to my food journal and it really did seem to help. The few times I thought about caving in or did I felt GUILTY when I would write it down. I have been reading "The abs diet" which isn’t really a diet (like south beach diet) it’s just more a book to help guide you in nutrition and picking the right things to eat. Really a great book for someone like me because I was really starting at the very beginning on all this. Anyway it has some AMAZING recipes..pita pizzas, alfredo and I had to remind myself no to feel guilty because they were all low carb, low cal, high fiber and protein, but they didn’t taste it. I love it. I have been putting flaxseed into a lot of things too. Pretty cool way to boost the fiber. So I am excited about keeping on this track and amping up my workout. I am going to see some more real results and I love it! Thanks for reading! : )

A little discouraged…

July 9, 2009

Usually I only blog once a week (on measurement day) but I felt the need today. I have been feeling great about the track I have been on and seeing the losses and feeling more energetic. It’s all been great, but last night I got myself a little down. I felt so great after an hour on the elliptical (that’s 600 calories whoo!) but then I had a look in the mirror (you know the big one that haunts you when you go to do the weight lifting haha) and I just didn’t see a difference and that sucked. I mean I’m not unrealistic, I know it will be slow and even slower to me (because I see myself everyday) but it just was a slap in the face. I did a pre-measurement measurement in hopes of lifting my spirits a bit ago and it did help. I am seeing some inches off and look forward to Sunday. So here’s hopin! I’m just gonna stick with it and work hard and have faith that I will start seein the change soon. It’s almost time to post a progress pic too so that will be interesting to see! Take care : )

Food Journal

July 5, 2009

I just did my measurements and they were a disappointment…I kind of expected it though. This week has been a let down. I didn’t make all of my workouts and my nutrition slipped too. My weight went up a couple pounds (although still down from the original) and most of my body measurements hovered around the same number so no decreases. I was trying to think of something to keep me motivated to eat the way I should. I’ve noticed this week that when I go back to the old way of eating it makes me feel heavier and I don’t want to work out which turns into a vicious cycle. I have heard a lot of times people talking about food journals. Has anyone tried doing this? Does it work? I was thinking of trying this and then posting them every week on here when I do my measurements. That way I have to sort of answer to others about what I’m eating. It’s really so hard. I grew up eating so horribly and learned to cook that way. (You’d see if you met my entire dad’s side of the family.) It’s all about taste and frying and ugh and it’s becoming a huge life lesson to learn that I can find healthy ways to cook and add great taste without all the butter and oil and etc my dad taught me to use. We have the abs diet books and I love cooking recipes that are in those. I also have a 9 month old who wakes up at 7ish am and a husband who doesn’t go to work until 11 pm so my sleep is off. So lack of energy is killing me too. Any suggestions? Well anyway back to it. I am going to bust out an hour of cardio and then really hit the strength training. It’s going to take around a year to get where I want to be, but I think I am going to try looking at it one week at a time and keep on keeping track of my measurements. Those are a real kick in the pants aren’t they? lol Thanks for reading! : )
