Before You Accuse Me……
Wednesday, October 31st, 2007Geesh! Intrawebz ARE serious business!!!! I made one comment in a thread about not liking a member’s Halloween pic and OMG, bring out the cannons! What’s funny about this is that I didn’t insult said member, merely stated that this particular pic did not appeal to me. I feel quite honored that she considers me so important as to mention me in her blog, but fails to recognize any of the dozens of others who actually DID insult her….and gee, who do you think was defending her in the same thread? WTF was I thinking???? Good grief, get over it.
EDIT: Apparently she has gotten over it and placed the internet forums back into their proper place in the priority list. Great for entertainment, but rarely to be taken seriously or personally.
Anyhow, back to our regularly scheduled programming…….
Didn’t post anything yesterday….had a rotten day and a major sinus headache. It was so bad that when I got home I took two sudafed and an Aleve - two hours later and still no relief. So I took two more sudafed and another Aleve. Aahhhh, finally, I could see without feeling like my eye was going to pop out of my head. Forgot to eat dinner, since I pretty much just laid down and prayed for the pain to go away.
Now, today is a much better day….Happy Halloween everyone!
So, it seems that trick-or-treat happens on Halloween here in the Chicago burb that I live in. How lame is that? I think it’s from 4-6 or something silly along that timeframe. Doesn’t make sense to me, considering that so many parents are at work or just getting home. Also, I have a major issue with people sending their children out in the dark to collect candy from strangers. I much prefer having it in the afternoon on a weekend, as it’s done back in my hometown in Wisconsin. Much more parental involvement and chaperoning equates to a much safer Halloween experience for the kiddies. But that’s just my opinion.
It was quite funny to see a guy get off the train at Union Station in one of those inflatable Sumo wrestler costumes - I admit it, I laughed. And no, we don’t dress up in my office, even though my IT department is quite laid back, it’s still a major financial corp and relatively conservative. So, instead I grabbed the black lace shirt that I wore as part of last year’s vampire costume and put that on. As close as I’ll get to actually dressing up in costume.
Funny, Peter sent me a pic on my phone this morning with himself in costume as Frankenstein. I found it quite fitting. We chatted for a little bit and he asked if I was going in my costume to work, to which I replied a definite NO. It’s not quite work appropriate! But I wonder now at some of his comments………are we going back to the flip-flop again? I really just can’t deal with him wanting to be back in my life as anything more than friends.
Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me - fool me a third time? Oh good grief, if that happens, somebody ought to smack me in the head with the largest brick they can find.
