Before You Accuse Me……

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Geesh! Intrawebz ARE serious business!!!! I made one comment in a thread about not liking a member’s Halloween pic and OMG, bring out the cannons! What’s funny about this is that I didn’t insult said member, merely stated that this particular pic did not appeal to me. I feel quite honored that she considers me so important as to mention me in her blog, but fails to recognize any of the dozens of others who actually DID insult her….and gee, who do you think was defending her in the same thread? WTF was I thinking???? Good grief, get over it.

EDIT: Apparently she has gotten over it and placed the internet forums back into their proper place in the priority list. Great for entertainment, but rarely to be taken seriously or personally.

Anyhow, back to our regularly scheduled programming…….

Didn’t post anything yesterday….had a rotten day and a major sinus headache. It was so bad that when I got home I took two sudafed and an Aleve - two hours later and still no relief. So I took two more sudafed and another Aleve. Aahhhh, finally, I could see without feeling like my eye was going to pop out of my head. Forgot to eat dinner, since I pretty much just laid down and prayed for the pain to go away.

Now, today is a much better day….Happy Halloween everyone!

So, it seems that trick-or-treat happens on Halloween here in the Chicago burb that I live in. How lame is that? I think it’s from 4-6 or something silly along that timeframe. Doesn’t make sense to me, considering that so many parents are at work or just getting home. Also, I have a major issue with people sending their children out in the dark to collect candy from strangers. I much prefer having it in the afternoon on a weekend, as it’s done back in my hometown in Wisconsin. Much more parental involvement and chaperoning equates to a much safer Halloween experience for the kiddies. But that’s just my opinion.

It was quite funny to see a guy get off the train at Union Station in one of those inflatable Sumo wrestler costumes - I admit it, I laughed. And no, we don’t dress up in my office, even though my IT department is quite laid back, it’s still a major financial corp and relatively conservative. So, instead I grabbed the black lace shirt that I wore as part of last year’s vampire costume and put that on. As close as I’ll get to actually dressing up in costume.

Funny, Peter sent me a pic on my phone this morning with himself in costume as Frankenstein. I found it quite fitting. We chatted for a little bit and he asked if I was going in my costume to work, to which I replied a definite NO. It’s not quite work appropriate! But I wonder now at some of his comments………are we going back to the flip-flop again? I really just can’t deal with him wanting to be back in my life as anything more than friends.

Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me - fool me a third time? Oh good grief, if that happens, somebody ought to smack me in the head with the largest brick they can find.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow…

Monday, October 29th, 2007

there’s lots of Skittles!!!!!! Taste the rainbow!!!!

Pic from yesterday when we were handing out candy to the little kiddies. I gotta’ say, the costumes were much better this year than last year.

What was really funny is that my brother-in-law was dressed up as a werewolf and someone’s dog was totally freaking out over him. Took a video of the whole thing, but can’t figure out how to get it off my phone….still working on it. Priceless.

Hey, Hey….We’ll Give ‘em What They Want!!!!

Candy! We shall give them LOTS of tooth-rotting, stomach-aching CANDY!!!!!!!

Heading up to Wisconsin in the morning, getting dressed up and going out for Halloween with my girlfriends. Should be a fun night.

Then on Sunday, going to my sisters for our annual tradition of handing out candy to the little kiddies while bundled up in blankies and drinking coffee. I promise to be good and not eat more than I give away! Actually, last year I did pretty well and only had a few pieces.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Celebrate Good Times!!!!

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

I have hot water in my shower and a brand new fridge that’s COLD!!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!

Now I can go about my regularly scheduled activities as previously planned. This moving stuff has really screwed with my diet and gym schedule. Now it’s time to get my ass back in gear if I want to dump the rest of this weight by New Year’s.

Wish me luck!

Cold as Ice!

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

Tomorrow, I’m told. Should be getting a brand new fridge and the plumber is coming to fix my hot water in the shower. YAY!!!!!!

Now I can move on and get back into some sort of normal workout and diet again. Can’t wait to go grocery shopping and buy some chicken! I never realized how much I depend on modern appliances. Thank goodness I’ll have a new one tomorrow.

Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?????

No More Words….

Friday, October 19th, 2007

I ran out.

Going to Wisconsin in the morning - Halloween party at the hotel, so I’ll be donning my Little Red Riding Ho costume to paint the kiddies’ faces. And some of the perv parents’ as well.

Coming back Sunday night.

Pipes in shower being checked and hopefully fixed on Tuesday. In theory, my new fridge should be coming then, as well.

TGIF and have a good weekend all!

Changes, Time’s Making Changes In My Life…

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

And it’s screwing up my routine in a MAJOR way.

1. I’m still putting stuff away and organizing everything so that it makes sense in my new space.

2. My fridge is not cold. This is a HUGE inconvenience. No cold skim milk. No chicken breasts. No MEAT at all!!! No salad. No condiments. No cheese. No ability to cook something and then save any leftovers for later. No cold Coke Zero. No cold beer. No ice.

I’ve been in my new place for just a week. The difficult part is that I’ve been trying to get everything in order while still working and attempting to do everything else that I normally do.

It’s not working. I’m a mess. I’m overly stressed. I’m starting to become mean and cranky, which is completely opposite of how I normally am.

Oh, and I’ve had a sinus headache for 2 days now.

Hey There Little Red Riding Hood…….

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

What big eyes you have,
The kind of eyes that drive wolves mad.
So just to see that you don’t get chased,
I think I ought to walk with you for a ways.
What full lips you have,
They’re sure to lure someone bad.
So until you get to Grandma’s place,
I think you ought to walk with me and be safe.

LOL…I haven’t actually listened to that song in a while! Picked up my Halloween costume last night and it’s been stuck in my head ever since.

I’m on Day 7 with no hot water and a warm fridge. Sucks.
