Motivation needed
I’m looking for some motivation to get back into a workout routine. Not sure what type of training I want to do as for frequency and intensity. I don’t want to just jump back in and do random workouts- although they are fun. I wish I had a training partner who was knowledgeable about training techniques and can teach me some new stuff. I workout with people here and there but I just want someone who knows more than I do and is as dedicated as I am. I should just hire a trainer…………… but I’m too cheap for that.

motivation…. Mirror, that should be all you need. For me, it’s knowing that I’m the only person that’s going to do anything about how I feel & look.

I also thought of something else just now. I’m at the level where I can advance to the next level in what I do, but I thought that it was something in the distance until my instructor told me I’m flirting with it. He looked at me and said "You, what’s going on with you! You’re there, you’re ready for your next belt, but you’re not at the same time. You have your days where you don’t just take a step back you dance all the way to square two with style, what’s up with that!"
It wasn’t until he mentioned that, when something clicked, something said, wow, he’s right. I know the days that I come in and I’m letting people get to positions that they should never see, and I just lay there. Sometimes is takes someone saying that, someone saying, shit you’re gaining wait, or wow, you’re lifting light. In My case it was Duude! You’re there! Like–wow, you’re holding yourself back. The goal is at the tip of your fingers, you’re touching, but you’re hand is curled…
Don’t let that be you, I looked at your profile, and WOW! You’ve come a long way, don’t let yourself dance back to step two! don’t have to work harder one day to be where you are today. Most definitely don’t let it get to a point where you talk about "How fit you used to be." I hope that helps, but at the end of the day it’s you that has to find the motivation inside of you, no-one else can be in your head when you feel that tingle of pride.

I like the last part of what you said the most. "Tingle of Pride." I’ve felt that a couple times in my life. Once When I graduated basic training in the Air Force, and once when I finished an Arnold leg workout and wanted to cry I was in so much pain. I can’t describe to anyone the way it feels when you are truly proud of yourself, so much you just have to enjoy the intrinsic feeling of personal achievement. I know money could never make me feel that way. There is my motivation! Thank you. I feel I’m so proud of myself that I want to keep doing what I’m doing.
