Nutrition / Diet

I am looking for any advice, ideas, or suggestions that are offered.  I have always been in shape and never had any problem with the actual physical part of working out out.  My problem has always been with the dieting and nutrition aspect.  I have a good idea on how to eat properly but my problem has always been with how to find my portions and correctly structure a diet around them.  I am looking for help with a diet on how properly to portion out my meals and when to eat certain foods.  I am currently in good shape with an athletic build.  I am not looking to get shredded or blow up, but maintain a lean athletic build.  I have a physically demanding job, and all my hobbies are physical.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

do you have a general idea of how many calories/fat/protein you need a day? I am sure you can find it on BB.com.

If you are having problems with portions, I would recommend measuring out your food, making it ahead of time and keeping a journal of what you eat so you know where you are through out the day.

I also found foods that were packaged in easily measured amounts. A can of tuna, a chicken breast, slices of lowfat cheese and turkey breast etc. Also - I tend to eat the same foods over time so once I figure out what a 3rd of a pound of Greek Salad has from the deli - I can mix up meals easily knowing portions. On heavy workout days - I can add a half portion for extra calories.
