It is all done!

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

WOW, it was a nice race, you could see the whole hill painted with multiple colours of people running towards the goal 13 km away.
Don’t know, but I think that is what I enjoy the most, watching all the people running!
Here are my stats, but first I must say: Children don’t try this at home ;)

Started at 9:00 am
Ended after 01:03:53
Consume: 947 kilo calories
Max HR: 180 aprox 102%
Avg HR: 168 aprox 95%

Enjoy my life for that hour, I will enjoy it more this starting week going to work, and the gym :)

I have my number

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

And I’m ready for tomorrow run; I will be runner 813, hey the race is a 13 km run, I should play 81 and 13 in the local lottery I guess ;)
My number Ready is the word, this is going to be a good thermostat for the half marathon of the PowerAid Challenge, the whole strategy changes after tomorrow, since it is a circuit, a very hard circuit, two strong up-hills, two long down hills.

I will post my time after tomorrw, If I still have energy :P Ruta Santaneca

Clásica Santaneña

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Or the Santa Ana Classic is about to happen, this next 22nd of July (if that is God’s will) I will be participating in this race, just 12 km starting near La Sabana, starting in front of TV channel
7 ending by the Santa Ana Municipalidad, it is going to be a lot of fun since the end of the race the last 3 kilometers are going to be down hill so expect to see a lot of people busting their knees.

This coming Sunday will be my last long distance run before the race, I expect to cover 17.3 km in about 2 hours, and by the end of this week I will have cover above 37 km in preparation for this run.

So here we go :)

Surfing Caldera

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

After so many years of denial, last Saturday I decided to go back to the beach and at least enjoy one cool day at Puerto Caldera and seek some surf with some old work friends.  It happened that we have been looking to go back and enjoy the oceans, its greatness, its dangers, and why not catch one or more swells but since long ago we learned never to go alone (not here) we were asking around and no one was paying heed to our calls.  Talking to Roberto we agreed on not talking much about going and we just make our minds up and hit the road.
Surfing Caldera  I think we choose to go back where we started almost 10 years ago, Puerto Caldera it is near San Jose, almost 2 hour drive through a really mountainous region full of vegetation (still).

Puerto Caldera is the main port in the Pacific for imports and exports of grains, vehicles, paper, and other goods.

Surfing Caldera In the end we started early on Saturday and ended late.  Exhausted yes, for sure, I did enjoy it all day long!  Even after so many years of no surf at all, I did not feel that tire, yea I stopped a couple of times to drink some fresh water and eat some power bars, the bottom line is keeping myself in good shape always, always help! :) no matter what we do, BBing could the end, but the training will always help to achieve one’s goals.

Regards

Frank
