Quick update

November 26, 2009

So i got back into the weights this week. Just squats and light bench press. Funny thing is, my wrist feels so much better. Tonight and Sunday I’m going to try out militay press, dead lift, ez curls and tricep pull downs. As long as they feel good at light weight I plan to get a routine much like the 5×5 i was using before but still keep everything with the wrist light.

My weight is hovering around 168-169 and im happy with that. I plan to keep it about there till new year, so i can keep my eating relaxed (well, relaxed for people like us). Come new year i want to drop as much body weight as i can.

Little help

Right, my wrist is still not right and still aches a little. I have been off working out for nearly 6 weeks and im itching to get back into it.

Apart from squats and sit ups, do you have any sugestions for things i can do? I might try very light weight bench press but dont really want to over do it but i do want to have some upper body work.

Progress pics

Threw up two more progress pics today.

My ritual is to then have a quick comparison from where i started to now, then go over them all to see the development. You know what, i love this. I really do. This is one of the few things in my life i put effort into and that i get such a huge sense of satisfaction from. Looking over my progress pics i realised how far ive come in 10 months. I was as near to 200Lbs that made no diference and here i am just under 170Lbs and being told by my co-workers that i’m looking thin. THIN! HA!

The wrist is still not right yet. I’ve got full motion back and am at 90% grip strength. The joint just aches a little when i exert it. Back on the bike though, but down hill still scares me.

Well, aint no rest for the wicked. Have a top weekend.

Goal Achieved!

Goal: Starting the 24 August 2009 , loose 24 Pounds in 17 weeks. 194.6 to 170.0.

Estimated Completion Date:  14 December 2009

Completion Date: 31 October 2009

Current Weight: 169.2 Lbs

Time Remaining: 6 Weeks

Done and done my friends. Firstly I’d like to thank everyone for their support. Xnewsome, dpaul, detour, bb24, nic902, thank you for all the hints and encouragement. You had no need to do it, your just good kind people. In an odd way you’ve kept me on the straight and narrow, knowing i have this permenant record of my weight and an accountability to the internets has kept me honest.

As you will have read, i fell off my bike and have been out of action for nearly a month now. Ive been doing abb work and for the last two weeks have been back on the bike and thats it. This whole thing has been diet. My wrist is nearly fixed so i’m starting on squats and light bench work next week.

In my mlast blog i said i wanted to hit 165lbs by Christmass. That seems like an easy goal now but  i think i can have a little break from the intencity of the last few months.

On the 24th August i set myself the goal to go from 194.6 to 170lbs by the 14th December. Nearly a month on and i am around 174 and feel good about hitting 170 easily within the next month. I can feel my self slowing down and not putting in the effort as i know i can hit it, so its time to set a new goal.

165Lbs by New Year.

Its 10lbs in 12 weeks which seems tough but compared to what ive shed up to now, it should be a cake walk. I just need to stop the alcohol and the snacks again and I’m golden.

Once I get to New Year ill look at my training plan for the year. See what i want to achieve and build something around that. Ill probably add another cutting period in there too as ive really enjoyed this one.

Any thoughts let me know.

Weight Loss

On the 24th August i set myself the goal to go from 194.6 to 170lbs by the 14th December. Nearly a month on and i am around 174 and feel good about hitting 170 easily within the next month. I can feel my self slowing down and not putting in the effort as i know i can hit it, so its time to set a new goal.

Still alive

I havent been that active on the site as my wrists are still sore, so i cant lift and my leg is still not healed, so prolonged cardio is out too. I’m skipping and doing sit ups twice a week to keep me going though but i really dont have much to report that isnt me moaning about not working out.

Fingers crossed its only another week.

Gettin Angry

Its been 10 days since i fell of my bike and I’ve managed to do any sort of exercise. Monday i rode into work but the ride back was hell and my wrist nearly gave way.

I am getting angrier with myself and my body as the days go on. I know i need to give myself time to heal, i know this is the right thing to do but i feel like I’m wasting precious time, that I’m falling behind on the imaginary race I’m running.

My weight is slowly creeping up and thats pissing me off too.

I just want to be better and to be lifting again, is that too much to ask?

Back on the bike

I havent been on my bike since i fell off it a week ago. The ride into work was nice and quiet as i came in at 7:15. It was a bit scary and my wrists are still not fully healed from the fall, so i felt every hole in the road but all in all, it was a nice ride in and good to get back to doing some activity.

I want to do some light lifting tonight but ill see how my wrist feels after the ride home.

 

Weekly weight in and injury update

October 4, 2009

So im up a few pounds. Or am i? See, i weighed myself 3 times and it came out at 176.4Lbs, i was happy with that and bounced off to make my shake. Now, regular readers will know that my scales had a habit of giving off results. I had time to wait for the eggs to cook so i popped back on the scales and came in at 180.4. 5 more trys and all at 180.4. I dont know if there is something wrong with the scales themselves or how im standing on them but this is wierd.

Ive taken the heaviest reading to be on the safe side and I’ll make sure i tripple check my weight next Sunday.

In other news, my shin is still healing and my wrist, though a lot better is still bruised and sore. I may have to take another week off the weights but hope to get back on my bike tomorrow.
