Feeling like Giving up?

Well, Ive been at this for a while now.. 14 or so weeks, lost a bit gained a bit..  i feel better. but today was the 1st day i truly wanted to give up.. Mind numbing loss of hope and conviction. feeling like I’m not getting anywhere.

So how to cope? what to do? and how to go about it…..   the feeling of not getting anywhere is such a void of despair..

But thanks to my friend and gym partner ( calling me a pussy for thinking of giving up & giving me the motivation to keep going ) i went to the gym. did my workout even though i was having the day from hell.

Today i had to think about why i wanted to get fit and loose weight..  have a lifestyle change.  i thought it might be for my kids..  or my health or my self esteem..  but it all kept coming back to 2 things…  1:  my overweight mother having to be lifted by a firemen cause she fell to the floor and could not get up..  i tried to help but was not strong enough..  shes dead now  2 years back. but that image and the day she died still haunts me…

2:  the fact I’m lonely .. single and i miss having someone in my life.. but today women all seem to be superficial and only go for the good looking guys with a good bod. lol

but thankfully the day from hell is over.. but i am still having to convince myself that I’m doing the right thing. that i wont be fat and 50 with no one in my life… i don’t even want to be fat and 35 lol ( so i got 2 years to fix that )

so how do you cope with the giving up feeling?  what do you do .?  any ideas!…………….. 1: DO it cause its the right thing to do ..

I am just like you I felt like giving up and actually thought that I would but then I thought that if you don’t do it for yourself do it for your kids. I have learned that women are going to come and go. (no offense to women that read this) but you can’t worry about what women think of your body if you are confident in yourself a real woman will find you for who you are not what you look like. The biggest thing is not to give up and work hard. Use it as a motivation that you want to be around for your kids and that the woman that knows you will come along.

Good for you for not giving up! All of have those moments, and mine is particularly driven by the difficulty I have of putting on quality weight. I have a long term goal in mind, but in order to keep frustration at bay, I have smaller short-term goals which I can achieve realistically. Each of those steps gets me closer to my long-term goal, and serves to keep me motivated because I can see progress, even though it’s tough. Friends definitely help!

Don’t ever give up!!! You need to do this for yourself. You will feel so much better. It’s a long slow process. I tell myself everyday "Rome wasn’t built in a day". It doesn’t matter what size you are, it will always be a struggle. I want to give up at least 3 x a week! And you know what I do??? I come on here. Every second I can. I get inspired by people and add them as a friend and I try to help people and it makes me feel better. NEVER GIVE UP!!!

You know what I found to be motivational for me that have my clients do…. Write 2 lists and post them on your fridge, or somewhere you’ll see them everyday. List 1 is the things you ‘don’t’ want to have to do, like ‘Not having to struggle getting up out of a chair’, ‘Not needing seat belt extensions when you get on a plane’, ‘Not having to shop at the BIG clothing stores’, maybe ‘Not having to take blood pressure medication’, etc. etc. Things you want to change in your life. Then the 2nd list is the things you want to be able to do, ‘I want to do 10 pullups’, ‘I want to wear size 34 jeans, ‘I want to fit into a XL shirt, ‘I want to run a mile, swim 20 laps, or run a 5k’. ‘I want to play (insert a sport here) again’. Every day you see those lists you’ll have a form of motivation staring you in the face. And as you achieve each of the goals, on either of the lists, you cross them out and keep moving on until every last one on each of the lists has a line right through the middle of it. I know it sounds a bit corny or cliche, but it works. If you don’t set goals for yourself and constantly remind yourself of what they are and why you want to achieve them you’ll have a hard time getting where you want to get to.

The results don’t always come in the timeframe that we want them to, but if you put the work in and keep eating clean, they will come. Keep up the hard work!

Small steps cover the same distance friend.

Speed & time are irrelevant when It comes to your health. The way your health effects people around you is relevent, Remember?
