Odds and ends, good and bad, I’m still here..
Sunday, September 30th, 2007Training for my last figure show went good. So did diet. I did everything I was suppose to…and yet.. placed 3rd yet again. Frustrating that its not all about conditioning..that genetics do play a part, my wide waist is keeping me from advancing and I had a judge tell me that a 37 year old woman is too old to build muscle so I need to shrink my waist, yeah, I’ll get right on that.. like I wasn’t already..maybe I can call my fairy godmother and put in an order for a small waist..or at least longer waist. But all in all I looked pretty good. Its a battle I’m going to have to fight. And no I don’t think I’m too old to build muscle, but it doesn’t help when someone tells you that, no matter how honorable their intentions may be. Also, I dropped a power supply on my big toe two weeks before the show and broke the toenail into 3 pieces…that was fun, NOT! For those of you who don’t know a power supply is a heavy steel thing inside your computer. Because of this..I couldn’t train hard on the obstacle course lately..and when I went back this week I felt sluggish…I know in time I will improve..but with all the injuries this year…I’m tired of waiting!! One of my friends from the obstacle course is trying out for American Gladiators! I wish I was doing that..but the deadline is tomorrow, and I don’t own a video camera..so I can’t make an video tryout. I will be on the lookout for the tryouts for those next time provided I’m still young enough to give it a go. I’m off dieting for a while.. and yes I’m gaining weight..but my new and very wonderful trainer thinks I need to give my body time to recover from dieting pretty constantly for the last 2 years. So I will not diet again until next year..I might have healthier eating times…still this year..but no strict fish, sweet potato and broccoli diets until next year. I need to work on my fitness routine for November’s Tri-fit contest…but my body is very sore trying to get used to the sprints, obstacle course again. Hopefully everything will come together and I’ll stay motivated to get the job done. Oh yeah..I love the energy I have now that I’m eating more carbs again.
