With such fierce competition today it’s hard to measure how much dedication a bodybuilder has.  For example a bodybuilder might be in great shape and condition but has no dedication because this person might get into shape easy.  My friend and photographer Josef introduced me to one bodybuilder who is dedicated named Petr Brenza who is from the Czech Republic.  I ran into Josef and Petr at Golds Venice where they were looking the place over to do a shoot.  Petr who is from Czech came to California to have Josef, who is also from Czech.  All that way just for some good photos.  Petr, who is the 2007 Czech champion weigh in at the shoot at 266 and looked very massive.

Training at Golds Venice you get to see alot of people but never really know their background.  Well before this was my case with the beautiful Dawn Strozier. I’d had seen and known Dawn at Golds for a few years but just the other day got to know the true her.  Any I can tell you children and parents are much better off with Dawn’s presence and the changes she’s bringing to these children and their lifestyles.  Dawn is one of the top lifestyle coaches and fitness expert with having trained and worked with top Hollywood executives such as Actor and Comedian Steve Harvey.

Dawn has now started a new program which all families with children should look into and it’s called "Dawn Strozier &the Fitness Kidz" The Fight…against Childhood Obesity Tour.  Dawn and the children will be going on a 10 city tour starting this Jan.  I’ve enclosed two different web sites so you can take a look at Dawn and what she’s up to so check it out!

The other day while filmimg my new web site instructionalfitness.com I had notice a girl in the gym training who is always in great shape.  Her name is Nola and she usually trains with Hide.  Well Nola and I have become friends so I ask her to also film for my site and to write a Bio for me, so I think she says it best so here is her Bio.

I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  I served 4 years Active Duty as a Surgical Technician and another 3 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Firefighter.  I attended the Louis F. Garland Fire Academy at Goodfellow Air Force Base in TX where I earned the award of Distinguished Graduate.  I received an athletic scholarship to Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL, where I competed on the Women’s Golf Team and graduated with a B.S. Business Administration.  I started competing in Figure Competitions in 2003.  I was selected for the America’s Female Firefighters Calendar in 2007 (Miss September).  Over the past year, I have been doing photo shoots for M&F, Oxygen & Ironman magazines.  I have been a contributing writer for MAX MAGAZINE as well.  I am currently an A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer and full-time Federal Firefighter/EMT.

NOLA TRIMBLE

A few months back I ran into the superfit and beautiful Sherlyn Roy at Golds gym.  Sherlyn is the girlfriend of American Gladitor Mike O’Hearn.  Sherlyn is a regular site at Golds who at being small is very strong.  You can always catch her doing chin-ups or deadlifts and squats.  This girl kicks ass in the gym.  Sherlyn competed in the Team Universe where she won the Figure Class A and then the Figure Overall.

The other day at Golds Hide had another young but thick Asian bodybuilder with him.  It was the National Champion of China Peter Lin or spelled in China Peiqu Lin.  Peter is a natural bodybuilder with a lot of potential if he sticks with it.  Peter had his wife along to translate as he’s still working on the English language.

My partner and myself just started a new web site called instructionalfitness.com. This site will assist people in the proper way to do exercise along with interviews from top people in the fitness field.  The site will be up and running Dec 15.  Hida, who I became friends with last year stop by to do some filming for me the other day.  If your in Cali come Jan you can see Hide step back up on stage at the Ironman.

Muay Thai fighter and one of my best friends Johnny De Beer who moved here from Holland and married fitness model Noy Alexander tried his luck last weekend in Vegas.  John has done some fitness modeling for M&F along with some Europe magazines since moving to the USA and is also one of the stars of the new reality tv show Superbodies.  Last weekend Vegas held the fitness America contest and with over 70 guys, and John tried his luck for his first show.  John walked away with 6th place but several people at the show said that John should have been 2nd.  Im sure with the fighter he is John will be back!

When I was getting ready to fly over to Hawaii for the 25th year of the Paradise Cup Bodybuilding and firgure contest I got a call from my friend saying she was going to compete.  This was a shock to me because it was from Maybelline is is a RN in Hawaii and it was her first time on stage with only training for it for 7 weeks.  Maybelline has been married for 3 years to USA 3 Weightclass winner Shavis Higa.  Who knows maybe she will get the Pro card first as she was so calm and a natural on stage with great shape and great lines.  Hope to see you up on stage soon Maybelline.

My good friend in LA Dave Reinpercht who is a fitness model, club promotor and new star on TV reality show "Superbodies" was in Las Vegas last weekend to try out his luck on the competion stage at the Fitness America contest.  I worked with Dave on his diet and let me tell you this guy is strick.  He told me " I don’t crave junk food just a good steak" This was his first contest and he placed 11th out of 70 other guys.  Dave was having a problem cramping the day of the finals and I was busy in Hawaii with another show so I wasn’t able to help him but he still pulled through, so keep your eyes on this guy in the furture.

I went to Hawaii last week to do a few demos for my sponshor VitargoS2.  We did the demo at GNC in Oahu withg this GNC being the main store in the world doing over 3.5 million per year.  Along with myself I was joined my local Erniest Mongo Chang a National level bodybuilder and Johney Jackson Ifbb Pro.  VitargoS2 who is headed by Anthony Almada the inventor of both creatine and EAS before selling to Bill Philips.  This product was 1st brought to my attention by IFBB Pro Jay Cutler and if you havn’t  tried it you should.  It can only be gotten at GNC or Genr8 web site and soon hitting bodybuilding.com.

Back in 1996 and 1997 I competed against a thick bodybuilder name Mike Dragna who just finished his time with the Marine Corps.  I moved to Southeast Asia but Mike kept at it and earned his Pro Card.  Mike who also lives in Hawaii seemed to fade away a few years ago.  Well im glad to say I trained with Mike and his training partner Mongo Chang and Mike was looking very thick at 250lb.  Mike has always been super humble and he told me he wanted to do the Ironman but instead will look to compete around May 2009.  Hope to see you back on stage soon Mike!

Last weekend in Oahu Hawaii they held the 2008 Paradise Cup bodybuilding and fitness contest for it’s 25 year.  Promotor Guy Leong said he was happy but surprised with over 100 competiors this year.  The show had some great guest poser such as Quincy Taylor, the massive Branch Warren who was a crowd favorite and the local Cliff Torres.  In 2007 heavyweight Steve Preza who is a correctional officer in Hawaii won his class but lost the overall.  Well, Steve was back this year and both harder and bigger to take the overall championship.  Steve hopes to come to the mainland next year to hit the stage at the 2009 USA Championship.  Good luck Steve!

The other day while watching the 2008 Mr. Paradise Cup Bodybuilding Championship in Hawaii I ran into Shavis Higa Mr Usa 3 different weight class winner.  Shavis will do the 2009 Middleweight class at the USA then the Nationals.  Shavis is known for being ripped and great shape but as you see he also takes time to enjoy the offseason.

While i was at Gold’s training the other day i started to hear all the guys talking about someone looking "hot" and then I was what the cause of excitement was.  After having to get a closer look myself I realized it was IFBB PRO Figure and Fitness model Patricia Mello.  Patricia had just arrived from Brazil and was on her way to compete in Kentucky.  Talk about a total package, this girl has it all from great legs, beautiful skin and very sexy and not to mention just a sweetheart, very down to earth.  Keep your eye out because Patricia is only here for a few weeks before she returns back home to Brazil.

Since my training partner Armin Scholz has went back to Germany I started training with the other 300lb Germany Aiman.  Today while training legs I saw Hidea who is now a regular at Golds Venice.  Hidea I met last year when him, Silvio and myself went to a contest in Hawaii where they both guest posed at.  I really enjoyed traing and talking with Hidea while we were in Hawaii.  After that he was supposed to move to the US but then he had his problems with US customs.  Well that didn’t keep this champion down as now he’s back living in Cali and looks great.  Both him and Aiman are now training for the 2009 Ironman so turn up intensity as the Pro’s are coming back to Venice.
