Big Peter Putnam was at Golds today where he was with MTV filming a Tv show called the Maid.  They filmed Peter and Silvo at both Golds and Max Muscle.  Peter told me he’s 12 weeks out from the Nationals and is looking forward to start training for it but he has another week left to film here.  By doing this filming I hope to be able to help bring bodybuilding to the main stream.  Peter is always down to earth and is a positive attitude so we wish him the best at the Nationals this year.

IFBB Pro Eryk Bui who hasn’t step on stag this year to compete and is now stating to all that he’s training natural was at Golds to film last Sunday.  Eryk who still seemed to be in good shape was at Golds to filmed as what looks like a workout video.  For being Natural Eryk still use some heavy weights as I saw him to to Incline bench with the 120lb dumbells without help.  Let’s see how long this last as im sure Eryk will want to step back on stage soon.

Back in the late 80s and 90s you might remember Pro Bodybuilder Dean Tornabene who competed during that time and then once leaving the competing side he got into info comericals and started inventing exercise equipment and became very sucessful.  One of his companies lookcut.com is going to be the nutritional sponshor for John De Beer and Dave’s new reality show.  Dean just showed me a new invention that Bowflex and Natalius want to be part of.  To top it off Dean is training hard daily and looking very ripped.

Aiman, the IFBB Pro who is from Lebanon but was livining in Germany has made the big moved to Venice Ca.  Aiman was livining in Germany where he had a gym decided to relocate to the US.  If you get a chance to run into Aiman make sure you stop and say hello as he is one of the most down to earth bodybuilder that you’ll ever get to meet.  I had the chance to train a few times with Aiman and what an animal he is.  We were both about 4 weeks out from a contest and both on low carb diet’s but Aiman still trained very heavy and hard at a fast pace with alot of force reps.

Having competed at the Europa Aiman then took off for about a month of guest posing in Lebanon,where he has a fitness club, Germany, Kuwait, Abi Dahbi.  Now that he’s back in LA he’s training for Oct 11 where he’ll compete in Europe.  At 280s or 290 he staying very hard and lean.  So if your looking for a guest poser you cant go wrong with Aiman as he’s very friendly and outgoing with the audience.

Binais the fitness model who was on last month Muscle and Fitness cover and also the model for Gasp clothing is now training at Golds Venice.  Binais is from Sweden and was staying in OC but now has moved to LA and can be seen training daily at Golds.  This guy is getting big and thick like National level competing but the only thing is he doesn’t compete.  I guess some guys are just blessed with genetics!

Last week I had the chance to do a photo shoot with Danny Hester for Ironman magazine and I was very impressed with how Danny is looking.  Danny has been around for a long time and is know for his great shape but he always needed more size.

Danny competed last year here in Venice Beach and won so now he seems like he’s taking things more serious in an effort to add some size.  He told me that he’ll step on stag at the 2008 Nationals.

When I called home to Hawaii the other day I heard that Shavis would not be doing the Nationals this year.  Shavis won the LA Championships overall along with (1999 USA Bantam wt. champ) (2007 USA Light wt. champ) (2008 USA Welter wt. champ)  When I talked to confirm Shavis said he wants to move up to middleweight and take that class also at the USA.  Watch out for a new pro soon from Hawaii!

It seems like Phil has a place he loves to visit every time he’s here in LA.  I spoke with my friend Dave of JS Nitro and it’s a regular event that Dave ,Phil and Everett all go out for a little eating contest.  Check out the picture of Phil as he won eating 24 of these donuts.

If you ever have seen a BSN ad then I’m sure you know who Julien the ripped Muay Thai fighter that is under contract with BSN is.  I stop by the gym to see Julien today after his workout which last 45 minutes and was 200 reps of chins.  Julien said he got bored with weights so the last 4 months he has been doing all different types of workouts and the guy is still in unreal condition.

Julien signed a martial arts move deal so now he’s busy 3 days a week in acting class and then with what little free time he has it’s with his wife and their beautiful daughter Gianna who is now 11 months old.

Outside Golds today I had some time to talk with Chris Comier who is looking like his old self as thick as a house.  I have seen Chris ever day the last few months at Golds but we didn’t get a chance to catch up.  When I ask him today what his next show is he stated he first is going to secure a good contract then you’ll see him back on stage.  Boy I guess he changed from the past as he sure seems alot more responable now.  Can’t wait to see ya back Chris!

Gold’s venice has been very busy latley with some new filming going on.  It seems my two good friends Dave a club promotor/fitness model and John fitness model who just married Noy Alexandier have just started a super bodies reality show.  They started filming this week and will be at the Mr. O in Vegas then off to Cabio.  The show has alot of people most in the fitness field will know so stay tuned.

Just in the past month Big Armin Scholz who placed top 4 his best pro showing yet plans on stepping on stage within the next 4 weeks.  Having been Armin’s training partner maybe I’m playing favorites but the way he’s looking at Gold’s he just might qualify for the Mr.O this year…

While training a client the other day i saw this very massive bodybuilder in the back room dressed in a tank top, so i naturally thought that he was getting ready for the show next week in Texas.  As i walked into the room i was surprised to see that it was the massive WWE Batista.  Talk about being impressed from someone who doesnt even compete as a bodybuilder.

After taking some time to talk with Batista i saw that he is very quite and soft spoken  He says that he likes to visit Los Angeles but doesn’t think he could live here as it gets crazy at times.

My good friend John De Beer just flew back home to Los Angeles where he spends half the year and the other half is split between Holland and Thailand. I received a text from John saying he was going to marry the love of his life Fitness Noi Alexander in Vegas in a few days.

John and I met a few years ago while training in Thailand and since have become great friends so I was in shock to hear the news.  I have only seen Noi but havn’t really talked to her, however from what John and other friends have been telling me she is a incredible girl.  

A few weeks have passed now since I have returned to LA from Pittsburg where I competed my 1st time at the Masters Nationals.  With this being my first time to watch or compete at this show I was very impressed.  With a total of over 400 people competing this contest was ran very smooth.  The promotor Gary really has it down to a science!  I came to the show with my training partner IFBB Pro Armin Scholz who drew a crowd everywhere he went, as it wasn’t hard to miss him at 6′2 and 310 lb and 4 weeks out from his contest.

I really want to talk about both the over 40 winner of lightheavy weight Vince Galanti and the winner of my class the Heavyweight Gus Carter.  Vince was staying at the same hotel as me so we ran into each other on the way to prejudging and talked as we had compted against each other over 10 years ago.  After I took 3rd in my class when i came off stage Vince was there to ask me how I did.  A very polite guy along with being a crowd faviorite.

The heavyweight winner had also won that class last year but didnt get his pro card but this year was a different tune.
Gus and I were sitting next to each other back stage and although very quiet Gus was a nice and poliete guy that you couldn’t help notice who was carrying alot of mass to his thick frame.  So with both these top guys gone I’ll see what next year will bring and I wish the best of luck to both these new Pro’s
