A few days out before the Mr O while at Golds in Venice I saw Armin Scholz who ia around 300lb now talking to another bodybuilder about his height and only a little smaller.  When I had a chance to talk with him i found out he’s also from Germany where he is a cop and owns a gym.  His name is Matthias Botthof and he told me he’s not pro as of he even though he won the German Championship he only got 3rd at the Worl Championship.  Now is weight is 290lb and in good shape.  Keep an eye out for this guy.

Having worked the  Mr. O I really thought that Flex Lewis should have placed 2nd behind Dave Henry.  Not to take anything away from Kevin English who had more size and was hard but he had trouble keeping his stomach in and his shape wasn’t as good as Flex.  After the show I was out at a club with Ernie"Mongo" Chang and Shavis Higga when I ran into Flex.  What a great and humble guy he is.  Fklex said he was just happy to be able to be up on stage.  At a young age of only 24 it’s only time before Flex takes the title.

Gold’s Venice has been very busy this week with the Mr. O coming up this Sat in Las Vegas.  During a set I looked up and saw my old friend Hidetada who I hadn’t seen sice he guest posed last November in Hawaii. It looked as if he didn’t age at all with the ripped tan body and the spiked hair.  Hidetada said he has a visa which will allow him to stay in the USA for the next 4 months and that he plans to stay here and get some hard workouts in during this time along with visiting alot of old friends.  If your a fan then he will be arriving in Vegas this Wen thru Sun and at the Weider booth during the Expo.

Just got off the phone with my training partner Armin Scholz and it seems he missed his peak last week in Jersey.  We talked about his plans and he said he will fly back to Europe early to avoid jet lag and the get ready for the shows coming up there, he also said he might start working with David Palumbao on diet as he has never tried a low carb diet yet.  Armin is as nice as they come so all our love goes with him

It seems like this economy is hitting everyone and everywhere.  Back in beautiful Oahu Hawaii Gold’s Gym was forced to close it’s doors for good.  This was sad news when i heard because what an atmoshpere this place had with both record tital powerlifters, strongman which Hawaii is know for and both pro and National level bodybuilders all trained under the same roof.  Not far away last year Powerhouse gym had opened and they are taking the members in.  That what we call the Aloha Spirit
