Injury

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

So, I have been unable to do very much cardio for the past 2 weeks. I ran the Indy 500 Mini Marathon (13.1 miles) and in the last 2 miles I felt my left knee tighten up like something was about to snap! Needless to say it was hard to even walk normally for the next couple of days. I went to the Dr. and she said it was just a strained ligament and to ice it 2x’s per day and take ibuprofen 3x’s per day for a week and no running. WELL, I’m usually a great listener, however I tried running a 5K this past Saturday (which was not TECHNICALLY a week off of running) and after mile 1.5 my knee started hurting worse than when I first injured it!! SO, I only ran 3.5 of the 4.5 (b/c they took us down the wrong path…oops) and I’m back to icing. SO…my progress is not where I would like it to be right now, however I guess you do have to sustain injuries along the way sometimes. I’m going to try running tonight and stop and ice my knee as soon as it starts hurting.  My pics from the Mini are at http://www.brightroom.com/go.asp?31773429 I guess those will have to serve as my “progress pics” for now :)

Here we go….I started my page and have planned out my workouts and meals. I am only missing a couple of pieces of equipment that I can do without for a short time and improvise until then…..I’m a little uneasy about putting all of my measurments out there, BUT I have to track my progress somehow right?!

I’m working on getting my before pictures taken, hopfully this weekend. Any tips on how often I should take progress photos?
