That’s been me.  So after try-outs, and being told "Everyone expect to be at practice on Sunday" I get an e-mail on Wednesday saying "Thanks, but play in a rec league and come back in the spring." WTF?!?!?!  Seriously, I don’t want to play for that.  BUT it hit me HARD and sent me reeling more than I expected it to.  I had really planned on playing hockey this semester so for that rug to be pulled out from under me was tough.  Didn’t know what to do, was kind of in a daze….it really sucked.

So I haven’t been feeling like blogging lately either.  School is going wonderfully.  I can test out of a class next semester, finish my minor this summer, and be graduated in May 2010 with that spring semester being only my internship.  THANK GOODNESS!!!  I’m really enjoying this semester.  It’s pretty easy, because I live this stuff (the class I can test out of is the Techniques of Weight Training class) and what I’m learning in class I can totally relate to.  It’s great.

Trying out a new diet thing starting next week.  Trying a keto diet, looking to lean out then figure out what it takes to maintain that, then to gradually add back in carbs until I figure out what will add muscle and not fat mass.  When I compete again after graduation I want to be in the 120s at 8% or lower.  Perhaps figure, we’ll see if it isn’t middleweight building (115-125lbs) ;)

Weather

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

It’s a day that could be considered gloomy.  I like to think that it’s perfect weather to lace up the skates and shoot some pucks around before the weather moves in!  Unfortunately, I’m stuck at school, and I don’t have any outdoor wheels for my new skates *sigh*  Oh well.

Home Sweet Home

I don’t get it.  The Avs kick butt at home, suck on the road. They win 5-1 at home tonight.  Hopefully they’ll keep this home sweet home trend up, and apply it to the road as well.

Another One Bites the Dust

Rockies win again!!  Home Sunday for game 3, hopefully…..well, I won’t jinx it.

Avs lost on the road, again.  0-2 on the road.  These boys better not keep this up.  I think they need to talk to the Rox and figure out their secret.

Off to the gym for "heavy chest."  We’ll see how well this works with me all carb depleted and what not.

Darn playing hookey from work.  Actually, it’s a beautiful thing.  I’m going to a play with my family tonight ("Spamalot" actually, and I’m so excited!) and had a lab write up to do and I didn’t want to be up late tonight doing it, which I would have been had I not stayed home.  That, and I think my stomach bug is actually stress.  Anywho, one of my coworkers came across Broncos tix and offered them to me, which I turned down because I was supposed to be at work so I had to use the sick excuse to keep work stories straight.  Then Adam’s friend calls with Avs tickets.  Game is at 4, play is at 7.  I could make both of them…do I want to?  Yes!!!  Do I think I can?  I dunno…and that is the problem.

1-0 baby!!  Season opener was a thriller, but we won!  Let’s hope the guys can keep up the scoring and work on the defense this season, and I think it will be a fun one!!
