Tonight was the 2nd round of chest/quads, and WOW! Strength is up–even f it’s not increasing everything, it’s more reps/set than last time, so I’m happy Oh, and no spotter this time, so that’s good, too!
Warmed up on incline Smith Machine press. Stuck with 40lbs/set. Moved on to hammer grip chest press on the machine. Same weight, but more reps/set than last time, and I really felt it hitting where it needed to instead of triceps this time. Better form = better strength; pretty form = pretty figure My finisher set’s machine was in use, so I moved on to leg press before finishing off chest.
Some dumbass couldn’t rack the weights today at the gym, and I nearly broke a toe as a hidden 2.5lb plate came crashing down after I removed a 10 for my incline press. Granted, I wasn’t paying attention as I removed the weight, but WTF is a little one doing sandwiched between the 10s?!? Anyways, same person (I’m assuming) didn’t remove the weights from the leg press, and I didn’t want to be a wimp again (hey, the gym is crowded at 5ish!) so I did the weight that was there. Only 90lbs, but the old skool heavy sled we have exerts something like 120lbs of force down without any extra plates added Anyways, I did that, rocked out the chest finishers, and went to front squats.
I look at my numbers from last time, and go to load up the Smith Machine again for front squats when I realize something terrifying and absolutely unacceptable: same weight as my incline press SO NOT DOING SAME WEIGHT FOR LEGS AS CHEST!!! So I added like 10lbs to the previous weight. I guess lifting when it’s busy is good for me: gotta show that ladies lift (relatively) heavy!
The only thing left to this round is to get my nutrition back on track: make sure I’m not missing meals, and the calories I am getting are quality calories and not crap from the snack drawer at work >.<

I did a similar shoulder/bicep workout on Saturday, and my biceps are KILLING me today With the supps, I felt very energized and on the verge of being jittery without actually being jittery. It was great to push through the workout in a reasonable amount of time and not get terribly fatigued.

I haven’t done the calculations from lab, so no results yet…I’ll do those later heh
I did go to the gym with Adam this morning and try his workout. Mine really wasn’t cutting it regardless of that 1.5lbs of LBM gained. This was great. It was nice having the built-in spotter, the encouragement, the time together….k ‘nough mushy stuff ;P My biceps and shoulders HURT! It’s great!
I have some new supps from Controlled Labs: White Flood, Green Bulge, REDuction and Golden Finish. During the workout I was definitely more energized–on the verge of being kind of jittery without being jittery. Not sure how else to describe it, but it was great. I was able to PUSH through this morning at a nice pace. Probably not the best for evening workouts, so logistics may have to be figured out since most days I either have to be on the train to school at 730am or at work at 8am, and I’m refusing to be awake at 4am for workouts and in bed by 8 or 9, but looks like that may be happening lol Next semester will be later for school and work, so morning workouts here I come again!
I also decided that I will compete figure in 2009, and bust my @ss after July 2009 and go for competing in middleweight building in 2010. I think I’m too tall for lightweight (under 115lbs) building. I competed this year at 108, but I don’t yet have the upper body balanced with the lower body for building, and getting that lean now would make me look like a sickly stick lol

Today in Exercise Physiology we’re doing a body composition lab. Fun! Skinfold tests probably won’t be horribly accurate, but the best part is that we get to do a hydrostatic test! WHOO HOO! I’m actually really excited for this: it will give me an excellent benchmark I will post results after class.

Made it to the gym last night, actually DID my cardio! Yay! Shoulders are getting stronger–I’m bumping weight every couple of sessions now. Gotta hit legs harder now, too. Think I’m going to do them on Fridays so when I can’t walk on Sunday it’s no big deal lol
I want to say "GOOD LUCK" to everyone competing at HOTLANTA on the 21st-22nd! I’d like everyone going to root for my friend Rita Rae. She won the Lightweight class in Vegas earlier this year, and is hoping for an overall win and her pro card next weekend. Even if you’re not going–send her your thoughts and prayers! She’s amazing, sweet, and so awesome. She’s worked so hard for this, and has really brought her A game to the stage. GOOD LUCK RITA!

Training kinda stalled last week. Not sure why, but I NEED to get back on it! Diet wasn’t so great, but feeling the need to get back on track. Now if I would just feel compelled to STAY on track life would be grand. Actually, life is fairly grand, so I can’t do too much complaining (and the complaining I CAN do isn’t really worth it lol). So there’s really not that much to update, other than I have 8 weeks to our Vegas trip so I NEED to do something! I have 8 weeks, but I better start now. It’s not for a show, so I don’t have to do anything drastic, but I would like to loose some fat before then, so it’s off to for me lol
