Bit of posing practice before bed. Put on the heels, stripped down, and ran through the poses for a bit. I really noticed my legs, though Starting to see some quad separation (not much yet, but more than last time. 10.5 weeks to go, I think I will be ok) and from the side they have some GREAT shape. I need to go tanning again because I’m back to pasty (need to be more consistent with that too) so I will do that before I take pics again, but I’m SUPER pleased with my progress. I plan to keep up what I’m doing, though I fear a change of workout soon (EEK! Though it’s along the same lines, so it shouldn’t be too bad….right? *lip quiver*). I’m liking the diet again now that I have some morning and noon carbs back. There’s energy for the workouts, and I’m feeling so much better about them and pushing some real weight around.

Three of what? PULLUPS!! BOO YEAH! Then I finished my set of 10-12 with negatives (and looking like a total retard jumping lol) let Adam do his set (7 straight! Go him!!) and did 2 more all by myself ^_^ I’m VERY happy about that.
Found out I have all but 1 final in 2 weeks. The thursday final i have is my 530PM class. Huh? I’m so not coming up to campus (40 minute ride) for a 530pm class. I’ll see if I can take it earlier that morning if I can’t take it that Tuesday with the rest of my finals. How much does that suck? Oh well. I cannot WAIT for next semester

Yesterday I decided that I need to get my butt in gear, and that involves cardio. Judges will not look at you if your backside is sagging so I am determined to not let that be the case! BURN YOU CURSED FATASS! So I did 30 minutes walking at a moderate pace, decided that wasn’t so bad so i did another 15. I stopped there for fear of becoming a cardio freak
Today at work sucked. Two words: High Maintenance. Not only from my patients (and all but 2 of my regular HMers called, including 1 new one O.o) but also from the resident DIVA aka the other Sr. Tech. Needless to say when I get stressed I like to crunch things. Ok, that sounded totally Meat Head. But it’s true. Hockey pucks, or ice, or something crunchy like candy-coated popcorn or something that is now terribly disappointing in it’s unhealthiness, it doesn’t matter. Gum doesn’t have that satisfying CrUnCh. Yes, so another 45 mins on the stair mill was in order tonight. I’m working on fixing my gait–as previously stated–so I was really focusing on that tonight, and goodness, gracious OUTER GLUTES ON FIRE!
Ok, my pretties, it is time for this chickie to get some hard-earned rest. G’NIGHT!!

So after dinner (pho–yay rice noodles and a little bit of steak and beef broth) Adam was driving home, and I thought we were taking the highway home but we drove past it. I thought we’d take the other way home so I proceeded to tell Adam another story from today. The car ahead of us turned into Kohl’s (LOVE that store) so we, of course, had to slow down too, but Adam also turned into the parking lot. The first thought in my mile-a-minute brain was "Sweet I get something" which is horrible because one of these days it’s not going to happen like that and it’s horribly selfish of me to think it. But we’re driving in and I’m chattering away a mile a minute. I finish as we’re walking in and Adam asked if I had any idea why we were there, to which I replied "No." We walk in and he points straight ahead to the shoe section. I have a small thing for shoes (and by "small" I mean "Near obsession and I’m upset that since I’ve lost fat my feet have gone back to freakishly small but on the bright side I have to buy all new shoes. Damn.") and the only time I like browsing and shopping is for shoes. I am in need of a new pair of athletic shoes because my old ones are 1) too big, and 2)broken in with my "second position turn out" walk that I’m trying to correct (thank you years of dance and hockey).
I head for the women’s section, because they have purple shoes. I rather quickly discovered that women’s shoes are no longer made in size 5 or 5.5. HUH? SO NOT FAIR. The sales lady suggested the little girls’ section. "No, I’ll try the boys’ section because they fit better and are not pink." I hate pink, fyi. So I’m trying on the little boy’s shoes much to the dismay of the mother shopping for her boys. I find a pair that’s comfy, but navy blue. Of all the times to have a girly, must coordinate colors moment, I have it now. I’m not a fan of navy blue, nor do I own anything navy blue (except for 1 tank top that Adam recently bought me) so I can’t possibly have navy blue shoes because they don’t go with black pants/shorts. Well, Adam to the rescue again (dun, dun, daaaaaaaaaa!) with some shoes that are not blue and have the weird no-tying-necessary laces. As I’m putting one on I’m protesting that those laces "aren’t going to fit cuz they nev—oh…." as my feet slide into the shoes like well made gloves. COMFIEST shoes ever! So now I have new athletic shoes from the little boys’ section, from which I am forever going to have to buy athletic/every day shoes. This saddens me greatly because it means that the only heels I can now buy that will fit are the 5 inch hooker heels for competition. :/

Yes, I cannot function without some carbs. PLUS, I don’t need to diet down a LOT—yes, my thighs and butt are too jiggly, but I really need to be building more muscle, and for that I need carbs. We’ll see when I’m closer than 11 weeks out, but for now, carbs are back on the menu ^_^
Did the Max Muscle thing today. It was cool. There were some other competitors there which was cool. I learned a lot listening to them, and realized that I need to be more consistent with my tanning! hahaha It was pretty encouraging, actually, and awesome for the store. I actually met TriGuyColorado today so it was nice to actually meet a fellow bodyspacer in person. I did see him compete in March, and I hope to see him in the competitor’s area in July! The girl that just won the Northern Colorado Championship was there later in the afternoon, too. She will be competing at State with me. Doneker and her husband came by, too. If Tony would stop changing his hair every time I see him I would actually recognize him! LOL That was funny–had to be there for it though, sorry! Isaac Hinds of Lift Studios was there too, and it was really fun talking with him. Overall it was a great experience and I look forward to the next one in August.

Today was calves and hamstrings. I realized today how important carbs are to building strength. I have no extra carbs (only what comes from the broccoli, beef, peanut butter, eggs (LOL), and my shakes) right now and for a couple more weeks, then I get some oats and rice back in my diet. I cannot tell you how excited I am to push some heavier weights! The real ego blow came on calf press today (calf raises on the leg press machine). Last time we did these (a couple weeks ago) I did 200lbs for 28 reps for 5 sets. This week…well, first set was machine weight! The 100% drop was crushing. It was good, though, because it meant that last Thursday’s century set and Wednesday’s annihilation of calves did what it was supposed to. Now the poor calves get to rest until next Wednesday, thank goodness!

Today was shoulders. Did overhead presses on the Smith machine and they felt so much better than with just a bar! I’m really beginning to fall in love with that machine. It makes hack squats easier, chest presses have more isolation on the pec instead of the front delts, and shoulder work isn’t so bad. And when it came to rear delt flies on the pec deck, something clicked big time. I’ve been focusing on form on those FOREVER because, I admit, I find well-built shoulders INCREDIBLY sexy and am in LOVE with my husband’s shoulders LOL And the rear delt is somewhat evasive and I want my own dangit! LOL Well I sat myself down and focused on keeping my elbows UP and making a circular motion and 20 reps later (oops! was only supposed to do 15) I looked to Adam and asked if the form was good. "You’re kidding, right? Those were perfect." I’m just that good LOL Lateral raises felt good, but the 12.5 lb dumbbells are still a bit much. Take that weenie weights!!

Got everything planned out for the major switch. I basically only have the core classes for the major, with like 2 general ed classes that I was misadvised about and the college is NAZI about not counting them *sigh* No big deal, though, since they’re CAKE gen. ed. classes anyways. The BEST part is that I will graduate in 2, read it: TWO years instead of 3 or 4 *insert super happy dance here* Knowing that my calc and chem classes (STRUGGLING this semester in those classes) don’t count against my GPA for my internship just relieved SO MUCH! The only classes that count are the classes in my major, and those are the classes that interest me and therefore will be easy. I’m about to cry I’m so happy and relieved! It’s really funny, because I’m hearing echoes of my mom’s suggestion from YEARS ago to do something like this. Everything has fallen into place these last couple of weeks and it’s really cool to feel like I’m on the right path.
Last night was a "WTF am I doing" moment. I felt better after the "minimums" workout last night and this morning, but I was still super blah. I made it through the workouts, not focusing on weight moved or maximum reps, but really focusing on form. "Pretty form = pretty figure" to quote DK. I figured instead of wasting my time that I could work on the squeeze and form, and it was pretty good. Actually it felt really good on my crappy shoulders. But I didn’t just admit that I know tomorrow’s workout is going to be stellar!

Dear Deadlifts,
I’m sorry we’ve been apart for so long, but why must you make the reunion so painful? I didn’t mean to ignore you for so long, and I promise that we will spend more time together in the fall. You are such a wonderful exercise. It’s not you. It’s me. You build me up greatly, but that’s not all that I’m looking for right now. I will call you when things change.
~GJ
