Hooray for feeling ill.  Still managed to get to the gym this evening.  No need for hot rox tonight, I was plenty warm doing the sets thanks to the fevers I have been running today.  But it was good, and I did bump up some weights.  Hooray for endorphin release.

New Routine

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Starting Thursday we’re doing a new routine.  Two days, full body.  Taking a few days off before then, however, and it is much appreciated, although I really should start doing some cardio to really get into shape…

Haven’t updated in a week.  Here’s after today’s workout.

Day 3: Legs

Hack squats (4×10-12) 50

dumbell/barbell split squats (3×12) 45

eccentric dumbell romanian deadlift (3×12) 45

one-leg dmbell calf raises (3×15) 20

Standing barbell calf raise (3x 15) 30

leg press (3×12) 40

standing one leg curl (3×12) 25 (I think I typed that in wrong because my sheet says 25…)

This initally was four days of lifting and one day off, which turned into 3 on and 1 off, which has become every other day, with no upper body back to back.  That’s fine with me. It gives me more of an excuse to throw in a cardio day or two on an off day.

Just a note on weight: the 115.9 was at gym, full attire.  When I got home I weighed myself in bare minimum and was at 114.0.

This new program is with free-weights, so it’s more about control. I can feel it more this time around, as today was the start of the second cycle, and chest/abs day.  I could feel the muscle isolation more today, and my form is getting much better.  It’s more difficult with free weights, because the straight bars pretty much force your form.  All will improve with time, and being able to feel and see the improvement keeps me going.

New Routine

Monday, February 5th, 2007

I finished the first cycle of a new routine today, and I’m very sore from leg day.  Luckily I get to zig-zag around campus and walk it off today.  Hooray for tomorrow’s day off.  This new routine is split into four days of lifting instead of three.  It’s definitely more intense, doing the supersets.  So far I’m enjoying it, and I’m sure the further into it I get the more I will like the results.  I will post the routine when I get home.
