Blog Entry
May 18, 2008It’s been ten weeks now, and although I am yet to update my progress pictures, I am seeing some really pleasing gains. I have just discovered that I have been over training in some areas, not resting properly, taking too long a break between sets, and not eating like I should. Rather than see this as a disaster, I am learining from it, and now I now where I am going wrong, I can modify my routines.
I have just bought some free weights ( a barbell, and dumb bells with enough weight) so I can use my cables, and press machine in conjunction with the free weights, as I know many people swear by free weights. My lats are swelling, I have put 2 inches on my biceps, and my chest is noticably bigger, so it’s not all bad. People keep saying "You’re putting some weight on Gad!" but as Alison says, it’s my shoulders they are looking at, as I have actually lost the tummy I once had. I admiot I have neglected my legs a little, but I’ll catch up. I suppose like most men, I have wanted to see gains in the areas that men traditionally associate with getting bigger - chest, arms, shoulders - so I am a little guilty of not spreading the load.
I will get some new pics up soon, which should show a great deal of difference. I am still using the high protein drink , around half an hour after training, and although I can’t really say if it is helping, I will continue using it. I just need to rest a little more between heavy workouts, as I do train like a warrior, but like I already said, I don’t always give my shoulders and back time to recover, before I hit them again. This is something I will address over the coming weeks.
All said and done, I am very happy with what I have acheived in ten weeks, and will continue to improve my form, and routine in general. Thanks for the words of encouragement I have received from the friends I have made in here. It’s very well appreciated.
