Starting over
I have been trying to get back in the gym for a long time. I have been in the Marines for almost 2 years now and I am just now finding the time and motovation. Kinda sad huh? I used to work out 5 days a week and had a regular schedual and plan when I was playing football in high school. I have been to the gym quite a few times in the past two years, I just haven’t been to serious about it. I’m not in bad shape by any means at all, its just a different kinda shape. I went from constantly being in the gym and playing football year round to runing around 20 miles a week and working 8-10 hour days. It was a lot easier to find motovation when you have a entire football team to lift with and nothing else to do. Now its hard to find time for one, and even harder to find someone thats serious about working out. I’m Hoping this website will help me set goals and keep on the right track.

Let me suggest you create a simple, all body workout that you assign yourself to do just once per week (bench, pull ups, squats, just the basics). That way you get a sense of accomplishment, and develop a routine of going. I guess right now you probably end up feeling worse because you are not going as often as you think you should. But habits are built up little by little, and you need to set a small goal that you can achieve and feel good about. That is what entices you to do a little bit more. Also, log your workouts. It really helps to be able to look at your progress on paper. Hope you can hook up with someone to work out with you. Good luck and remember, a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step!
