Hi. I’ve decided to toss info into this blog in smaller, but more frequent doses. Kind of like eating. I often think of things I want to jot down, but I get too busy and it doesn’t get documented. So…. I’m digging deeply into the cardio this week. I’ve done cardio 3 days in a row (M,T,W) and I’m seeing some serious changes occurring within my body. This is significant because I did cardio once or twice weekly for my first show. I have a quick metabilism. I didn’t think I needed it. I’m discovering cardio can’t be done in a few weeks to get that "chiselled" look I’m after. Results are good with the added cardio. My legs are cutting up! They already look more defined than they did on my first show! Now, in keeping myself from doing to much of a good thing, I’m not going to do another cardio until Sat because my weight is dropping as a result of the cardio. I know that no matter how carefully I diet down there will be some muscle lost during the process of ridding myself of fat and excess water. We’re approaching 9 weeksand I’m going to keep a close eye on the effects cardio is having, but I’d prefer to up the diet to counter any excessive weight loss. I’d also like to be eating more entering competition in Oct rather than less. Need to keep feeding the beast!
Aside from cardio success, I’m going through a new canister of Nitro-Tech. I wanted a change because I’ve been on Syntha-6 since Feb. I wanted less carbs in my protein for the next few weeks to evaluate what effect it will have on me. There is a significant difference in carbs between the 2 protein powders. If I don’t see a difference in the next 2 weeks I’ll revert back to the Syntha-6. With the extra cardio it may be wise to keep the extra 11 carbs per scoop than to give it up, but we’ll see what 2 weeks does to my body with less "powdered" carbs. I hope there is no significant change because NitroTech tastes terrible. Syntha-6 tastes outstanding! Oh well, we don’t diet for the taste now do we. We eat for function. Let’s see what happens.
Later,
Mat
