DIET

Does anyone out theRE have a good diet that works when you have a job that works a rotating 12 hour shift.  On my days off my diet is great, chicken and rice, eggs and oatmeal, fish and veg.  but on days that i work it is hard to eat right i make my meals about three days in advance but with no real good way to heat things up what can i do.  want to cut back down to around 250lbs.  dont need to be this heavy(273) any more but still want to be big and cut

I’m the opposite. My diet is more disciplined on the days that I work because I knew when I can eat and how much time I have to eat. I’m not as big as you. My lean body mass is just barely above 200 pounds right now. I try to consume one gram of protein per pound of lean body mass. For breakfast, I’ll have some sort of protein (whether it comes from chicken, eggs, or a shake) and oatmeal. Usually, I’ll just mix the uncooked oatmeal into the protein shake. I work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. On each of my 3 breaks, I’ll take in around 25 grams of whey protein plus a light frozen dinner during my lunch break. When I get home, I take two scoops of ProSource’s NytroWhey Extreme (which is a great source of whey protein isolate and Arginine AKG) for pre-workout. Post-workout, I usually mix one scoop of whey protein with one scoop of weight gainer (the label says 4 scoops of the weight gainer is one serving) for a quick fix of protein and high glycemic carbs for recovery. I don’t take the full serving of weight gainer because of how late in the day I usually workout. I don’t want to consume THAT many carbs before bed.

According to Carlon Colker, author of the Extreme Muscle Enhancement books, one should consume 20-30 grams of protein at a time every 2 or 3 hours until you’ve consumed one gram of protein per pound of lean body mass. If you need help calculating your lean body mass, let me know. I will just need to know your body weight and waist girth, which is NOT your pants size. To determine waist girth, you take a tape measure around your waist and make sure the ends meet just below your belly button. It should measure higher than your pants size.

I have some diet plans… rightnow I’m only eating veggies and protein… protein from your usual egg whites and milkshakes thru a meatstraw. (haha) but seriously… and I’m eating 2 cups of veggies at every meal
