Stay lean or add muscle ?

August 26, 2007

I definitely want to add more muscle.  And to do that you must lift heavy (Put stress on the muscle to make it grow) and eat more (to feed the muscle).

I do lift very heavy.  (1 or 2 muscle grp/day, heavy wts, 4-5 exercises for that muscle, 4-5sets, 8-10reps). I also do old-school Military - Push-ups, Pull-ups "Behind the Neck", BB walking lunges, Trail running all the time, etc.

And I know you have to eat more to feed the muscle.  But when I eat, I just get bloated.

If I stay at 105-109lbs, I’m lean and my abs look good. (eating a limited amt of cals - workout, post shake, tuna + spinach, snack on fruit, tuna + spinach again, or chicken, etc).  I DO NOT drink milk, or any dairy products.  I can stay lean, but cannot add muscle at the same time w/out gaining fat and becoming bloated.

I know the scale or numbers do not mean anything, but for me it does.  If I go over 110lbs, I do become bloated….. I do notice the separation in my abs are gone. I can tell how my body looks and feels, when my wt goes up.

Is it possible to stay lean and add muscle at the same time?

It’s probably inevitable  ….. Along w/ gaining muscle, you will gain some fat.

Not here to “hook-up”.

August 23, 2007

Hey guys - I am removing some people from my ‘friends’ list.

I love bodybuilding, and love to keep in contact w/ other fellow bodybuilders, athletes, personal trainers and competitors regarding their training + progress.  I am here to improve myself + get more cut + defined.  And would love to learn more from others through their posts/blogs/nutrition/training.

Not here to "hook-up" or collect friends for points.  Does it really matter who’s my friend?… It seems like everyone has access to everybody’s pages anyways.  Everyone can see what everyone did, posted, commented or blogged.  What’s the "friends" thing for anyways… other than points ?  Do you seriously want to improve your training ?, Or are you here to hook-up + get stupid points ?

Please don’t take it personally.  It’s all good.

Muscle Pump

August 22, 2007

Love training arms…. I enjoy the feeling when they blow up like (little) baloons - - your muscles start to swell up beyond their normal size, you feel the blood rushing thru your veins, and then the veins start to pop out !  You feel all your muscles getting tight.  (had a good Bi/Tri workout today)

Getting that pump is one of the best feelings in the world !  Too bad I can’t have it 24/7.

Heavy Shldr day

August 21, 2007

Overdid my Shldr workout yesterday.. and totally feeling it now!   Want my shldrs to grow, so I did a high volume/high intensity workout.  Supersets, heavy Arnold presses, heavy Upright rows, heavy BB presses, heavy front raises, heavy Upright rows again (wider grip), 1-arm DB lat raises followed by lat raises.  4-5 sets, 8-10reps.  In between, did crunches and reverse BB squats (BB behind you, as you squat), and Sumo squats.   Trying new leg exercises to bring up my legs and glute development.

Feelin’ sore/pain now.  Can barely move my arms!  Hurts to reach up into the cupboard or open fridge.  Great feeling to be in this pain b/c I know I got in a good workout, and these exercises activated new muscles or my muscles in a very different way.  Gotta stimulate those muscle fibers!  Grow, grow, grow.  Wanted to get into the gym today, but too sore, my body is telling me to rest.  I will rest up for tomorrow - Bi’s/Tri’s and running.
