I need some serious encouragement!

Six weeks out of the gym!  Wow!  I feel like I’m starting over.  This past week was the first time I was able to get in 2 REAL workouts.  I really have to hustle to get ready for Nationals July 29th.  I am no where near where I was lifting before I got sick and I am going to have to kick it up a notch if I plan on doing well at Worlds!

Still feeling a little weak and trying to push it while being smart enough to not get sick again! My blood work looks better every day and I seem to have more energy these days! Iron count still dangerously low but creatinine (what determines how well your kidneys are functioning) looking better!

Still struggling with cotinine in the blood but have been avoiding all 2nd hand smoke at all costs!  Just celebrated my 42nd bday at an outside establishment with friends so I didn’t have to go inside.  It was a nice night and they had portable outside heaters which I revisisted often.  My fellow anemics will apprecaite that!  lol

I hope that all of your workouts are going well!  I’m back in the gym.  I’m not going anywhere.

Sick of being sick!

Was hoping to at least go to the gym and get some super light lifting in or just even get in the hot tub.  But I came home from work today totally exhausted.  I’m heading to bed.  Tonight will be the first killer ab class that I have missed other than when we were in Hawaii. 

Saturday’s comp is not looking good!  Think it best to just rest and regain strength!

I’m soooooo sick of being sick!

workouts for women powerlifters

Hey, I just started powerlifting.  My boyfriend bought me a membership to his gym and I have been working out with him.  I have been searching the internet with no luck for a sample workout for women powerlifters and all I can find are one’s for men.

Loving lifting heavy, but don’t want to get hurt because I don’t know what I’m doing.  Seeing a change in power since I started doing heavier weights with less reps.  Can definately see a change in my body!

I have my first competition in a month.  I’m excited!

Any help or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!

Pump and Run

Just heard about the Pump and Run at my last competition. I am a runner that enjoys lifting and would like to maybe do fitness competitions here in the near future.  But for now, I am very interested in the Pump and Run.  Does anyone know of any Pump and Run competitions with in 200 - 300 miles form Erie, PA?

My mom died and I can’t lift! HELP!

My mom died Wednesday morning and I have been unable to work out. I only get in 2 workouts a week if I’m lucky being a single mom working 60 + hours a week.  I cannot afford to miss a work out.  But I have absoluely NO STRENGTH. Usually at times like this I can go to the gym or run to get my mind off things and continue to function.  But I seriously could not even get my 5 lb ankle weights off the floor.

Any suggestions?
