Well, I am going to labor at the gym this morning…Chest/tris. I am down 5 pounds this week. I believe it is 2 pounds of fat and 3 pounds of water weight carried from a salty, mexican "cheat meal" last week. In any case, it is nice to see the scale swing down. Next week, I will be taking my monthly tape measurements.
School started and I am keeping very busy. I have 5 classes with about 30 students in each class, back to school nights, assistant athletic director responsibilities, and intramural football are keeping me busy. Until next week…DO WORK!!

Celebrated my 35 birthday today. Went out for Mexican food tonight. Didn’t eat terrible, but is was definitely a "cheat meal". The good news is I did my cardio earlier today and didn’t have any drinks(alcohol) with dinner. The meal was pretty salty, so I am drinking a ton of water tonight. I have a feeling I’ll hold a little water weight the next couple of days from the sodium in the Mexican "cheat". Last cheat was 2.5 weeks ago, so hopefully this will ramp up the metabolism again. I feel like I am making some progress…the scale keeps moving down, clothes feel loose, and the mirror shows progress. Still a LONG way to go…DAY by DAY, I will have the physique of my dreams when my 36th birthday comes around.

Ok, I have come to the realization that some days I am too busy to blog. So, rather that keeping a daily blog as I have, I will just blog occasionally or when something strikes my fancy. Although I am not blogging daily, have no doubts that I am training and eating clean daily!!

Spent the morning at school getting ready for classes to begin. My wife goes in for her cardiogram tomorrow. Saying my prayers.

Leg Day - Squat 405 Yea!!
Still feeling tired today. I took my wife to the doctor today. She had an abnormal EKG reading. So we’re having an cardiogram done Thursday and a stress test next Tuesday. I am saying my prayers that she is OK. Perhaps it is a wake up call for her to start eating healthy and working out.

Weight is down another 2 pounds this week. I think I have my nutrition nailed. I am losing 2 pounds per week consistently. I am pretty sure I am not losing muscle because all of my lifts have been going up! Sure, I would like to lose more/faster, but I think 2 pounds per week is perfect and of course will add up over time. However, I have been having some anxiety lately?!? Not sure what it is all about, but don’t like the anxious feeling. Could it be lack of carbs?

Missed checking in on Day 40. I was busy yesterday. My 2 girls play soccer so I was at their games the first half of the day. I have been going to bed pretty late, I have loved staying up watching the Olympics, I can’t get enough of it!! Michael Phelps is incredible!!
I need to do cardio today and then were bringing the girls to Elburn days festival to go on rides and watch shows.

Not sure why I am so tired today…
I had a good day in the gym. Friday is my day to do ‘bodyshaping’. I have trained each muscle group during the week, so on Friday I do 2 sets per body group and do the whole body. Usually, shaping exercises: raises, cables, isolation movements. I will keep calories right where they are, as I have consistently been losing 2 pounds a week. If I plateau I will up the calories for a couple of days to rev up metabolism.

I ate about 2,500 calories today. This is up about 500 from most days the past 4 weeks. I was just really tired today and thought I could use the extra calories. Today was cardio day at the gym. I did 30 minutes on the Stairmaster. My hope is the Stairmaster will help to bring out some definition in my quads. Good night.

I am a teacher and school starts in 1 1/2 weeks. I will need to prepare food ahead of time so it is ready in the morning. Summer has been so nice, because I could go work out mid-morning and basically cook my food every three hours. I will need to get in the routine of preparing food the night before for the day or better yet cook on the weekend to last maybe 3 days.
I felt good today at the gym…Chest/Back day. Happy with my progress so far, but still have so far to go…taking it 1 day at a time!
