Sorry for not posting earlier but work has been very busy. I have my appointment with the UF medical center (Shands) on June 16th. They should be able to determine what has caused some of my left eye issues. The Mestinon has helped tremendously with my eye but the side affects of the medication kill any workout drive you might have. I am still having slurring of speach problems and muscle cramps during excersise or softball.

Well last week was pretty horrible. Good thing is that the Mestinon seems to have really helped with the eye and vision. The side affects are horrible though. Some days I will have some slurred speach and can’t tell if it’s from the Mestinon (causing dehydration or it’s a part of the Myastinia ????). The Mestinon will induce pretty significant dehydration if your not careful..it will cause small muscle spasams….and really makes it hard to complete large muscle lifts…It doesn’t really matter if you have 400 lbs or 200 lbs on the leg press…at the end of about the 8-10 rep you can feel the muscles starting to cramp and lock up…..almost like you have done a set of 50 reps to failure…
I hope this week is a little better…I just have to watch my diet and water intake even closer. I have even started drinking gatorade (the g2 kind) just to make sure not to get too much water and flush the potassium out of my body….

So we uped the dosage for the Mestinon. Side affects include diarhea, muscle cramps and severe muscle cramps.
Result last night at the gym. Found myself having to pull into Taco bell…could not even order in the drive through. Slurred speach was so bad I couldn’t even talk. Then while sitting in the truck I get an abdominal muscle cramp that bulges out about 3 inches. I was barely able to walk in and get a cup of Hi-C drink with sugar in it. Saved my ass! I baisically dehydrated myself and with the medication causing severe muscle cramps…lesson learned.
Only positive…it doesn’t take but about 8 reps to get a solide pump in your muscle..they get rock hard….strength has gone down significantly but atleast I am getting the swelling from it…

Many have asked so I was going to update everyone on my health status.
I started having some double vision in my left eye late in the day and at night while lying on my side watching tv. Then I started noticing having some astigmatism while playing softball looking down (depth perception problem..not sure how far or close something is).
Eye doctor appointment in Febuary. Perfect vision in both eyes. He could see that my left eye would not focus on the same object when moved in certain positions. (That’s what is creating the double vision). So MRI test and blood work.
MRI comes back clean except for one little spot. Nothing to worry about he says. Blood work comes back excelent. I have had an slighty high acetyl cholinesterase test before (Graves diseases or OP poisoning). So I forwarded to a Neurologist.
He isolates the problem to the 4th cranial nerve muscle. Yet he doesn’t know what is causing the problem. He doesn’t rul out Myastina Gravis (Graves just ocular). So we start treatment with a drup called Mestinon.
So not getting any better I am now going to a Neuro Specialist in Gainesville Florida or Emory in Atlanta. Which ever one can see my wretched ass first.
