Hey Foggster,
Weight gain is a strange thing, i would say that 75% or more of it is done outside of the gym, ie, in the kitchen!
When you first start weight training your body will drop some fat and pick up muscle no matter how or what you're eating or supplementing with. However as time goes on, you'll find you spend more time planning your diets than your workouts.
Remember with every kg of muscle that goes on you gotta increase your protein intake to sustain it. I've seen sooo many guys hit plateaus, and when you ask them about diet you find out they're still eating the same protien as when they were 5kgs lighter!
My advise every week, increase your protein intake by 10grams or , you can't have too much protein!
Train like a freak, eat like an animal, grow like a monster!
Blessings brother

You are only fine if you think you are! You don't think you are, so lift the weights. They think you are fine because they aren't anywhere near where you are. Maybe you need some new friends, don't get rid of the old ones, just add some new ones who want to keep getting better instead of settling for the old routine.

Agreed with sixzebra - occasional use of straps, especially for your heaviest sets is ok. Plus you might want to work on building up forearm and grip strength (this does take a long time though since the forearms don't usually grow that quick on most people).

ARe you using straps? If not, use them, try working in 12-15 rep range. that should help you get the lat pump you are looking for

Hey man. There really is no easy way to do it or nothing. Dont give in to all these things you read best advice...It dont work unless you are on steroids lol. Most likely its going to take a while. Do a bit of research on the foods you can eat that will cause you to put on a bit of extra weight that are healthy for you. Pack on around 4000 calories a day, 7 meals if you can find the time is a BIG part of gaining the muscle. After that you jsut need to be consistent and train hard. Get all your protein, at your weight being around 200-250 grams would be ideal. Then once you notice the muscle building on and you want to define yourself. Do what they call a "cutting" stage where you turn down your calories a notch and do a little more cardio. This will cause you to burn off that little bit of extra weight you gained during your "bulking" ( higher calorie intake) till you are where you want to be. This will give you a good run for a while. After you are finished you may want to get a bit more muscular or whatever. Try another bulk and cut again. Dont worry though when you do cut you will lose a bit of your size and strngth but this is completely normal. I hope I helped you out a bit and if you want evidence you can take a look at my progress pics. I have been training for almost 4 months now. Still hard at it. I dont no if you knew all of this or not but if you never try it out. You will be sure to get results. Taker easy and train hard!! Peace
