My second day of hundred-rep training and my calves and i are not on speaking terms…
had to stop twice in standing calf raise and three times in the seated to make the hundred. and oh my, the burn was fantastic!
Managed to make it through delts and bi’s while only stopping once (except for rear flyes, had to stop twice for that one).
Again, the burn was deeper than i’ve ever felt. I actually FELT the difference between the short and long heads of my bicpes!
Friday is my last day. Quads, Hams, Glutes, Tri’s, Abs…can’t wait.

Yesterday (Monday)i tried a new form of training i found in a magazine that interested me: Hundred reps training. It was different, to say the least. I did three exercises to chest, three for back, one for traps, and one for abs. One set each for 100 reps. The pump on my chest was massive, but nothing new. i always get a great pump in my pecs. The pump in my back wasn’t as great as i expected it to be, but the BURN! it was lke nothing i’d ever felt! my back and traps had the deepest burn i’d ever experienced. it was complete, along the length, breadth and depth of my entire muscle. the burn was so intense and so deep i could picture the topography of my back in my mind.
That was just one day. Tomorrow (Wednesday) and Friday are my next two days where i’ll finish off the rest of the body. I can’t wait…

I now have a new measuring stick for my hard chest workouts. It’s something I noticed the last couple times I went heavy…bloodshot eyes. It seems that when I put up some really good weight on the bench I burst some cappilaries in my eyes. I’ve heard of this happening to other people, but I never noticed it happening to me until a couple weeks ago. I’m pretty sure it’s harmless and it clears up by the time I’m done with my abs workout. I just hope it remains confined to my eyes and I don’t one day stroke while i’m putting up a good bench, that would be most unfortunate, hahaha
Till next time,

Got home from work yesterday and was in no mood for the gym. I was really tired and Wednesday is usually my day off, but since i can’t make it on Saturday i was going yesterday to make sure i got in my five days. i had some time to kill, so i just lazed around, debating the pros and cons of skipping that day. ‘i’m tired’ i told myself, ‘i can catch up on some sleep’. ’shite, it’s legs today, i hate legs!’. i was feeling very lethargic, and this train of thought wasn’t helping. Finally, just because i am a very stubborn human being, i decided to get off my ass and get ready. and, i tell you no lie, AS SOON as i threw on my vest, i was in gym mode. It was like taking a shot of adrenaline. once i decided i was going to the gym all systems were go. i was alert and energetic whereas two minutes before i was sluggish and lethargic.
This just goes to show, unless you have a really good reason not to go, JUST DO IT!
if you’re feeling lazy, JUST DO IT! once you get into the workout you’ll get over it. trust me, you’ll kick yourself the next day if you don’t go because ‘you didn’t feel like it’. don’t be a bitch, get off your ass and hit that iron.

Recently i tried a new cardio machine. I don’t do much cardio, because my schedule is very tight, but i if and when i do it, it’s usually on an elliptical or a treadmill. This time i decided to try the big hunk of rotating stairs known as the StepMill. I thought to myself ‘that can’t be too hard, it’s just stairs…’. i jumped on and set it for 20 minutes, found a comfortable pace(level 7) and started climbing. After 5 minutes i was dying! 5 MINUTES!! my lungs were burning, my heart was racing, my thighs were on FIRE! i thought ‘nah man, you have to be joking! it’s just stairs!’ after 10 minutes i aborted the mission and climbed off the monster, drenched in sweat, with a new found loathing of that machine, tempered by a grudging respect. I have found a new Nemesis in the gym, and it’s name is StepMill…

I’ve been making good gains in the gym recently. My strength has been increasing in most exercises, i’ve been getting more cardio in. feeling pretty good…..then i jump on my scale and it tells me my bodyfat has increased by 2% in the last couple months. so WDMC?!?(anyone that’s not a Trini will not understand that outburst…think wtf, but more graphic). So now i’m completely discouraged and confused. How did that happen? Then i think back…for the last month or so i’ve had fast food at least once for the week, sometimes two and three times. All that progress i made leaning out ruined because i’ve had to sacrifice my eating to do shit for other people’s schedules. Having to eat KFC and pizza because we HAVE to go visit my g/fs cousin. eating a bunch of sugary shit because that’s all my g/fs sister had to eat(while i was expecting beef pies, etc). btw, did you notice a common denominator in those scenarios?
anyway, that shit stops now. no more kfc, no more pizza, no more bloody cake. i’m going as clean as i can for teh next month and let’s see what the scale says
till next time
